Dear Mercedes-Benz South Calgary, I am writing to express my serious disappointment with my recent experience at your showroom while considering the purchase of an AMG vehicle. I visited your dealership with the expectation that a Mercedes-Benz showroom, particularly one representing AMG and the Mercedes-Benz brand, would provide a professional, knowledgeable, and transparent purchasing experience. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The salesperson assisting us appeared to have very limited knowledge of the products, financing options, and warranty information. More concerning was the lack of transparency surrounding the pricing and financing process. While the salesperson was attempting to locate the vehicle, we were unexpectedly approached by two different sales managers. One effectively interrupted the process and attempted to engage us in the transaction, while another later stepped in to try to close the deal. This created the impression that the priority was to secure the sale rather than properly understand our requirements and provide accurate information. The salesperson was unable to clearly explain the available financing rates and repeatedly had to leave and return with different payment figures. Eventually, we were told that the financing rate would be 9.99%. When I pointed out that Mercedes-Benz Canada and your own website advertise financing rates that are materially different, I was simply told that the rate depends on the customer's credit standing. That explanation was neither sufficient nor accompanied by any meaningful breakdown of the applicable financing terms. Even more concerning, the salesperson could not provide a proper written breakdown of the vehicle's pricing, applicable fees, financing terms, or other costs. Instead, everything was presented on a basic sheet divided into four sections, with the conversation focused almost entirely on monthly payments rather than the actual purchase price and financing structure. That approach is particularly disappointing when dealing with a luxury brand. A customer should not have to repeatedly ask for basic information or attempt to reconstruct the actual cost of a vehicle from payment figures. Frankly, the level of professionalism and transparency we experienced was so poor that a small independent used-car lot or even a mechanic shop selling vehicles on the side could have provided a more straightforward and professional purchasing experience. I am also unclear about the business model being followed at this dealership. Customers who seek out a Mercedes-Benz AMG vehicle are not simply looking for transportation. They are coming to experience the brand's heritage, engineering, prestige, and customer experience. If the purchasing process is reduced to aggressively presenting monthly payments while the sales team cannot clearly explain the vehicle, pricing, financing, or warranty terms, it undermines precisely what distinguishes Mercedes-Benz from the many other brands offering high-performance vehicles. This was not simply a disappointing sales interaction. It was an experience that fell well below what I would expect from a Mercedes-Benz dealership and, frankly, below the Automotive industry standards. More

I recently purchased a SLK 350 from a used car lot in Calgary and took it to the South Calgary Mercedes Dealership for a scheduled service. The vehicle had approx. 27,000 km on it and had recently undergone an oil change and inspection at the dealership where I purchased it, but I wanted to begin my relationship with MB and also have the service done by qualified Mercedes staff. I reviewed MB Canada website prior to attending the dealership to understand the details of the service and was extremely displeased to find out that they are the only dealer in Calgary that does not follow your recommended service description and, in fact, charged me an additional $350.00 for replacing the cabin filter. I called them and asked if they had made a mistake, and they told me they will make no concession and don't really care what it may state; they do not cover the cost of the filter replacement. I had hoped to continue with the dealership for future service and perhaps purchases, but have decided to travel to Country Hills for all future dealings. I have brought this to the attention of MB Canada, as this is a serious breach of corporate policy, and I hope they will discuss this with them so that future customers are not treated in the same manner. I will also be posting a Yelp and Google review to let others know of the company's unwillingness to follow stated MB advertizing/documentated service promises. More

Unfortunately, my overall experience was very disappointing with their Assistant Service Manager. I was unfairly accused of damaging a rim (rock chip) on a loaner vehicle damage that I believe was caused by normal road debris. Despite my explanation and apologize, I was told that I will no longer be provided with loaner vehicles, and a note was placed on my file. This feels like unfair treatment and not how a loyal customer should be handled. The incomplete repair and unfair handling of the loaner situation left me no choice but to take my business elsewhere.
