IF YOU WISH HARD ENOUGH.. I had decided that it was time to replace my old Ford pickup, which I had owned for 11 years. As a certified "car nut", I often spend many hours on-l I had decided that it was time to replace my old Ford pickup, which I had owned for 11 years. As a certified "car nut", I often spend many hours on-line at such sites as Autotrader.ca, eBay Motors and kijijii, researching pickups throughout Ontario. I had developed a preference for the Dodge Ram,and in particular, the Laramie, as I am a fan of "bells and whistles". I discovered what looked like a very nice 2010 Laramie at a dealer in the Ottawa area. Poring over the photos on Autotrader.ca, I lamented the fact that the truck was so far away from my home in Woodstock. "If only it were closer", I said, "I would love to check it out." Lo and behold, one day last week, I saw what I was sure was the same truck, but now it was at Wendell Motors in Kitchener! I immediately sent an email to Wendell from their website to inquire about the vehicle. I received a response from Derek Mckay, with an invitation to come in and have a look. I was impressed by one statement Derek made in his email, in which he stated that the truck was in such good shape that he thought it must have been a one-owner but he couldn't say for sure and that he would never lie to a customer. As it turned out, the truck was a one-owner, as Derek later verified. My wife and I visited Wendell Motors and took the truck for a test drive. We were impressed and made an offer. After some discussion with Derek, and later with Greg Elliott, we were a few dollars apart and did not reach a deal that day. However, Derek and I did not give up and after some more negotiation over the phone, the truck was ours. I was very impressed with the courtesy exemplified by Derek and Greg, even when a deal was not to be had that first day. Cordial and professional attitudes created an atmosphere which invited further thought and discussion later. Once the deal was done, Jean Giles worked through the paperwork with me and offered warranty and rustproofing options for my consideration. Everyone involved in this transaction was pleasant and professional in their interactions with us. I was amazed at how busy the dealership seemed to be....there appeared to be always at least one or two customers being served at any one time! On the day we picked up the truck, Derek spent a lot of time with me completing the paperwork, sharing info about the free oil changes, owners manuals, etc. Then we went outside to the vehicle and he took the time to walk/talk me through all the features of the truck and to make sure I was satisfied and had no questions left unanswered. As a final gesture, he had an underdressed (it was CHILLY that day) young woman take our picture with the truck. All in all, it was a wonderful experience. I will be a strong and vocal advocate for Wendell Motors and for Derek Mckay, to all who will listen. I usually keep my vehicles for ten years, so maybe I will visit you all again in 2024! Thanks! We were browsing the used section , in particular the Dodge Journeys. They had several late models that we liked the look of, Peter noticed our interest and approached us. Right away he came across as friendly and helpful with our questions and concerns, he took us for a spin in the best spec one they had at our request still answering questions and taking in to account our situation (less than 2 years in the country and unsure if we'd get finance..). We left to talk about it and returned about an hour later, where Peter again helped us through the process of getting the necessaries sorted out. Finishing this long story off we now own a 2013 journey R/T that we figured would have been out of our reach. The service was attentive and any issues were dealt with, they took care of everything we needed to get the car ready for us to drive away 3 days later. Even got a couple of oil changes thrown in to boot. Well worth a visit for your dodge/jeep needs, hopefully after service maintains the high standard we received on our purchase say. Buying a new vehicle can be stressful, but Cy I have purchased many vehicles over the years but this is the first Chrysler product I've ever owned. Buying a new vehicle can be stressful, but Cynthia Sharp put my mind at ease and answered all of my questions about the van. If she didn't know the answer to a question, there was no BS, and she went and got the answer from someone who did. That impressed me! No one can know everything, but to admit it, and go and search out the answer was the right thing to do. She said the van and it's features really sell itself, and that's true, and she was there to help facilitate that and answer any questions I had along the way. I liked Cynthia's non aggressive sales style, and at no time felt pushed into a sale. She was knowledgable, courtious and up beat, with a good sence of humor.
