"New vehicle purchase from Carlton Honda"

We recently purchased a new vehicle from Carlton Honda in Prince Albert. The salesman Jeremy McKay was great to deal with. Very respectful, polite, and professional. He was knowledgeable and not pushy. The trade in value of my old car was also very fair. I felt the deal was great until I dealt with the finance manager, Rick Scott. There was more twists and turns and hidden costs in the contract than I could have even imagined. There was also inflated interest rates. He tried to rush me through the contract so I would sign it. I had to slow the process down and question him on every additional cost and fee.. Eventually he removed the fees and brought the interest rate down to what I had been told it was earlier. At the end of the meeting he threw the salesman under the bus by telling me it was the worst deal he has seen in his 20 years of doing this. I left there with a bad taste in my mouth for the dealership and wondering if I will be taken advantage of every time I have to return for service work. I hope this is not the case. Anyways, great sales staff but be careful with the finance manager.

"Unprofessional , rude attitude of Rick Scott"

July16,2016 We were in the dealership to purchase a used vehicle. Angela a sales consultant girl walked us through, very polite, friendly girl. we selected a 2014 Honda CRV but later on when we took it for a drive it was making funny noises and found quite a few scratches at the front of the vehicle. We asked her to negotiate some price discount on the basis of that and she did agree on that(after the permission of her manager). Both the parties agreed on a fixed price and we decided to go back Monday July 18 to sign the papers. As soon as we pulled out , we received a call from Honda. It was Rick Scott(I believe he is the finance Manager). His attitude was very egoistic, rude and arrogant. In a very rude manner he said there will be no negotiation of the price and doesn't care about the deal at all. He has no customer skills at all.His approach was very unprofessional, doesn't show any respect for his employees who are the front line people making every effort to sell their vehicles. I do not recommend going to carlton Honda because their manager has no respect for his customers at all. I would rather go to Saskatoon. at least get the customer service you deserve for the amount you are paying for your vehicle.

Thank you for the positive comments regarding Angela. Managers are often pegged as the bad person during a tough negotiation. It appears we had a difference of opinion on the market value of a premium pre-owned Honda and were unable to accept the deeply discounted offer to purchase.
