Findlay Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram
"Deceptive Dealership"
DECEPTIVE, IGNORANT, TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! BUYERS BEWARE!! Unfortunately this review is long overdue!!! This review I thought is EXTREMELY necessary and so here I am, writing an honest review about this dealership to warn all future and current car buyers. It all started back in November 2018 when I became in the market for the car I wanted, a Dodge Charger 392 6.4L. I've scanned hundreds if not thousands of listings online and other outlets. This is when I came across a 2017 Dodge Charger Daytona 392 at Findlay Dodge, stock #18-117B. After looking at the listing and online photos I instantly inquired about the car via their website right on the listing. Easy! I didn't expect a reply the same day, just the typical automated message that usually follows, so I waited, and waited and waited. I finally got a phone call from Randy and I asked some questions which he didn't have answers to right away and said he would call me back, fine, totally understand. He called back with the answers and exchanged contact info. After that, I was left in the dark. I waited for replies to emails that I sent but received nothing. I was a very motivated buyer so I pressed forward and started reaching out to other employees via email and phone calls. It seemed like no one checked their emails except the employee Kayla Johnson who replied to my emails asking if anyone had followed up and I replied "No". So I decided to call and inquire more about the vehicle since I live 4 hours away and wanted to make sure of everything and be told the honest truth about the vehicle before I made the drive. My main concern was the condition of the vehicle since I am conscious about my cars and taking care of them. I finally spoke with 2 different employees on the phone and expressed my concerns and they both reassured and told me that the car is in "Mint" condition and that it was a fairly local trade in. I said that's great to hear and if that's the case I'll make the drive, and so I did. I drove the 4 hours and had a check ready to purchase the car....well I arrived and that's when it went downhill some more. I walked up to the vehicle and I instantly noticed flaws that weren't mentioned, such as: Scratches/Swirls in the paint (I get it, it's a used car will have some minor imperfections), the Daytona decal was fading due to the detailer hitting it with the buffer, and then I noticed something that I believe should've been disclosed, a cracked taillight. After looking at the car I was quite disappointed about the condition after being told it's "Mint" and driving 4 hours, but that didn't stop me from going in and asking for Dave, who was assigned to me, and do a test drive of the car. Got the keys, went to start it, 'click', the battery was dead. Maybe it was a sign...after jumping it we got it running and went for a test drive, car drove great. Brought it back and Dave brought it into service to have the battery tested and ask about the cost of replacing the taillight. Came back and Dave advised the battery tested good at about 85% and that the cost of replacing the taillight was about $1000. I expressed to him how I drove 4 hours and was never told about the taillight (since that was my biggest concern), and if he was willing to meet halfway and take $500 off the car and I'll buy it right there, he said he can't do that without batting an eye. I even offered the alternative of switching the tail light from another Charger that was the exact same year just to ease the expense for them, he also said "No" without even consulting the higher-ups. I asked if he could ask his manager and again he said he can't do that. So I stood there and contemplated it and after pushing further about some money off due to deceptiveness from multiple employees, the answer was still "We can't do that, it's priced like that because we knew about the taillight"...well if that's the case why wasn't I told about it then before making the drive? So I left and grabbed lunch. After lunch, before I hit the road and drive another 4 hours, I decided to call and see if they would even be willing to take even $100 off and make the sale just to feel like they made an attempt to fix the situation. The answer? You guessed it, still "No". So there I went. BUT WAIT IT GETS BETTER... A week later when the work week was over, and I was ready to look at other cars I noticed they reduced the price $500 on the car!!!! WHY couldn't they do this when I was there?! I felt this review was necessary to get out there and let future customers know about how I was treated, from no replies to emails, the deceptive info pertaining to their cars to the poor customer service when I arrived there. All I can say is, BEWARE.
