Service manager is a hack. Front end service people are worse. Refused to escalate or resolve issue. Notice they sit almost 20 spots below my new normal dealership so my experiences are not unique.

I've had my car for just about 3 years now (2012 optima) and there's already been 3 recalls. I had to get my engine starter replaced and they said they could do it for ~$850. I looked around town and got it down for $350!!! look out and be careful folks. Do some shopping around. If you go in for a recall don't buy anything else unless you need it. What I will say that's good about these guys tho, is that they don't push things in your face to be bought.

Got a recall letter in early November on truck doors randomly opening and freezing and that the recall was deemed a safety and potentially dangerous issue to the clients that drive F-150 trucks. Went threw the protocole steps set fourth by Ford, after the fixes did not correct my issue Ford Engineers decided to replace all Four of my door latches. This is we’re my story begins for potential buyers as they should be very weary of buying there vehicles from Urban Ford in Arnprior. Your sales experience should be very good as was mine, but my service experience progressively got not so good to very bad on how they treat customers and speak to them, not to mention there lack of empathy on a recall that clearly stipulated that the doors opening and freezing was unsafe and potentially dangerous. After dealing with this issue for a month and half and having to remote start my truck to warm up enough to open my frozen doors that would not unlock. I was at my wits end and then I get told that they only have Three out of the Four latches for my truck. In the past I have had to wait for service as they had no loaner and there garage was booked, no surprise this time around no loaner and the garage is booked. In my last conversation with there service manager he let out that he was doing winter tire changes and wheel bearings and that he only had two technicians on staff. I told him that my situation was deemed unsafe and potentially dangerous as opposed to a winter tire change. I had emailed him if at least I could get my Two front doors done before our trip that went unanswered. In frustration I emailed the owner and got an apology and he passed my email to his service manager. In a justified frustration a word that I used about there service rep was responsible for drawing “First Blood not me” this was deemed that I was a threat to the well being of his staff and I am assuming that there was to be no effort done on making my truck safe for our trip out of town. I contacted Ford Customer Care and explained what I have been going threw with Urban Ford and they were more then apologetic they asked to put me on hold so I agreed. After being on hold they managed to find a dealer in Ottawa and explained to them what I was going threw. They then asked for my contact information and within 5 minutes I was speaking to a Ford dealership service manager who had taken the time to call me. He explained that it was New Years Eve and that he was short staff but if I could bring my truck in right away he would make time to make my truck safe for our trip. Now that is excellent customer service in my books Urban Ford. I urge anybody who is thinking of buying a vehicle threw Urban Ford to source out a better dealership that cares and takes a serious concern on recalls that are deemed unsafe and potentially dangerous to the owner of the vehicle. Urban Ford clearly chooses the side of there staff as opposed to the client that was impacted when there is a situation that arises. You should also know that the staff turnover in the service department is high that alone should be another alarm bell to not do business with this terrible dealership.

Terrible service! So frustrating we have had at least 3 bad expériences with them. We only took our truck the last time because its under a maintenance aggreement. However they seem to never want to do the work and honor our service aggreement with ford and honor our warranties. I will never take another vehicle here again if if i need to drive 40 min away to get my service aggreement honored. Major double thumbs down.

They are always there to help you. Weather it is for an oil change or to instruct you on your new car. In the service dept. there is a young man called Aaron and he really helped me personally. I thank God there are still men like him around. Thank you so much Aaron. Donna

Brought my Mustang in for a recall item. Waited three weeks for the appointment, thus giving them time to order the recalled part. I delivered the car at 8:00 AM. Received a call back at 2:30 saying they needed to order a part for the car. They started to look into the issue (recall backup camera) after lunch. Said they could have the part ready for tomorrow. 1) why have me deliver the car at 8:00 and start working on it at 1:00 2) it was a recall on a backup camera cable; why didn't they order the parts three weeks ago I ended up not having the work done at all.

I was so impressed with how friendly and helpful everyone was from Sales, Parts, and Service. I felt comfortable having my car serviced there. The service manager even told me that I was free to go into the shop to talk with the Mechanic if I had any questions. The Mechanic also came out to the waiting area and discussed an issue with me and helped me to decide what course to take in resolving the issue.

Service Experience Volkswagen Downtown March 13-22, 2024 I am commenting on my worst VW service experience to date, after driving VWs for the past 46 years in Germany and Canada. I visited Volkswagen Downtown many times since I bought a VW Passat Stationwagen in 2007 with them and a VW Golf in the summer of 2023. I also bought a VW Golf Hatchback in the summer of 2024 (that one with a different VW dealership in the Westend). It is the latter car that had a clutch problem at an intersection which is why my daughter brought the car into VW Downtown on the evening of March 13 (Wednesday). The service experience was awful: from the beginning blame was shifted on me; the service was unfriendly and unreliable – all timelines given were wrong. There was clearly no understanding of building relationship with a customer who had used the dealership for as long as I did. BLAME: The very first question the service person asked me was whether my daughter knew how to drive a manual. My daughter as well as my entire family has/have never driven anything but manual cars – this was also my car, not hers. I have driven manuals for 46 years, am a careful driver, and never in my life had a clutch problem. When my daughter was clearly not to blame, the previous owner was blamed (conveniently also a woman). The previous owner however seemed a reasonable person from what the other dealership told me about her, and it seemed all too convenient to push all blame away from VW. The car, by the way, was at that point just 4 years and 2 weeks old (and I had driven it for barely 10 months and 6000 km). I still do not understand this and do not trust the judgement of this VW dealership. Despite having a mechanical breakdown insurance, I had to pay over $1700 of the total of $2800. Here, I would have expected the dealership to show some responsibility/lenience/customer appreciation. TIMING: I was given the impression that the mechanics would work on the car right away (but was aware that this was not a quick repair). I did not expect and was not told, however, that it took from Thursday morning until Monday lunch time for the mechanic to remove the clutch from the car for further inspection. On Wednesday, insurance issues had been clarified by the dealership, parts were there, and I was told the car should be ready by Thursday. On Thursday, the date was postponed until Friday morning/lunch time, and eventually the car was ready Friday evening just about when rush hour was at its worst – but not before the dealership had taken their time to check the car (which I never asked for) and come up with a bunch of suggested further repairs (filter, oil changes etc.) that totaled another $500 (plus tax). I did not let them do these as I was fed up and had lost all trust into the dealership. In fact, I feel that I cannot even trust that the repair was done properly and will bring my car for an early service appointment next week to another VW dealership (and have necessary repairs done there). At no point was I offered a replacement car from the dealership although this is part of the mechanical breakdown insurance. I had bad experiences with this dealership before but not to that extent and did not comment about this on social media. The unfriendliness and non-responsiveness of service left me speechless this time. Overall, I will avoid this dealership at all cost in the future and readers of this can make up their own mind. Based on this experience, I will likely buy my next car with a different automobile firm that is more dedicated to customer care and accountability.

Unfortunately their after sales service is less than adequate. You tell them about issues you have been having and they don't even scan for the errors just saying they didn't notice anything. You tell them about another issue with a brand new car and they don't even put the notes in the service record or have any idea of when they can fix it or even look at the problem. To top it all off they refuse to allow you to have a shuttle lift back to work because there was no charge for warranty work and only allow use of the shuttle if you have paid for a repair. I have never experienced this lack of care from any of the many other dealers in the past. After sales service rates a big zero.

On May 16,2023 I went to VW Richmond Hill for a small repair of a damage caused by me at the driver's side mirror. An attempt was made to repair by changing just the frame but unfortunately the casing was broken. On May 17, 2023 the part order came and by 10:00AM the car was ready to be picked -up. I need to mention that original mirror and the cap were used since there were not damaged. The Service Manager Lauranne Tonghe is a very knowledgeable person which helped and assured that all job went smooth. Communication with her was excellent letting me know how the job progresses. The charges for service were reasonable and explained in detail by Lauranne Tonghe. In the last 7 years I leased and bought and serviced 2 cars at this dealership and the experience was a pleasure dealing with Mr.Nadeem, Lauranne T. and Erick. This dealership can be considered as an example of how the business of buying/leasing and servicing a car should be run. Thanks for your service Mihai Stancu

Today I went to Volkswagen Villa for warranty issue. The warranty issue I had ( rust on my 2013 VW GOLF) was handled very professional by the Parts Mngr George Azar ( who handles these kind of warranty issues because photos and explanations are required by the VOLKSWAGEN COMPANY in order to get the proper authorization for the warranty work) and his team ( Jacky Sum and Reza Safikhani) under his leadership. He solved the issue and made me very happy. It is not the first time I visited this dealership for either service or parts. Everytime I visited I was treated very professionally by the dealership staff. Sure there are going to be some customers not happy due to the fact that they set up their expectations very high and keep forgeting that the service staff is there to service them not to be their servants. Unfortunatelly in this kind of business is very hard to satisfy everybody. The staff is doing their best to look after the customers to the best of their abilities.. I would say to everyone at the dealership KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK because good,dedicated and professional staff keeps the dealership in business and everyone employeed as well retaining the customers and gaining some more. Thanks again to the Parts Mngr George Azar and his team for looking after my issue and keeping me as a satisfied and pleased customer.

Two more times readjustment for the replaced brakes - jiang123

I would like to share my mysterious experience here to see if anybody can help me to solve this issue. According to their recommendation, the whole brake system of my Volvo XC90 was replaced at this workshop. After driving back home, we found the E brake did not function. I sent an email to the workshop and requested to get the problem fixed the following day since we are going to travel afterwards. We sent the car back to the workshop the next day and the E brake was readjusted to fix this problem. In the morning of the third day, we drove about 20 minutes in the city of London and then entered highway 401. After driving about 10 km on the highway, we heard some strange noises and felt the violent vibration and the car was like driving on a very bumpy road. We had to pull over our car. I realized some burning smell coming out from the right rear wheel. I attempted to use my finger to touch the right rear disc and found it was super hot to burn my finger. However, the other three discs are just gently warm and I can put my fingers on them without any un-comfortability. I called Volvo London and talked with the lady named Ruth. After I described the problem to her and reminded her that my car's brakes were just replaced. She definitely said that something got stuck on my car's rear right wheel and it was nothing related to the car's brakes. I told her that my car's brakes were just replaced at your workshop. She said "it is nice". I have to say she was very rude this time even though she sometimes behaves ok. I am just curious should the so called service advisor behave in this way when the customer desperately needs help? Then I requested to talk with the service department manager. I described the problem to him and he confirmed that this phenomenon was not normal. He suggested me to call roadside assistance to get my car back to the workshop. After my car was towed back, I also talked with the service manager in person and he confirmed again that the phenomenon I described was not normal. They promised me to check it and sent me back home. In the late afternoon, they sent my car back home and an invoice report as well. Mysteriously, they did not report anything wrong. I have communicated with Volvo Canada and they confirmed all the parts consumed on my car are certified to defect free. Then the question is: what caused the malfunction of my car's brakes on highway? I could not get any reasonable explanation from the workshop. Who can help me to explain what happened?

Purchasing there was a pleasant experience. Serving there has been a nightmare. 4 times I have been back. 1st time even after making an appointment and indicating I need a ride they had no one to drive me nor a vehicle for me to use. Waiting almost 3 hours for the results of the scan and then told part not in stock. 2nd visit was to have the part installed and again no one to drive me, called an Uber. 3rd visit was scheduled maintenance 1. booked an appointment and told them I would be waiting as I need my car to work. took almost an hour before the car was brought in past its scheduled time. Over all time was almost 3 hours for basically and oil change. 4th visit most recent booked an appointment and stated I needed a ride. Car taken in before appointment and ride was given after only having t wait 25 minutes. 2 hours later the car was ready. Not great but almost acceptable for a scan to find issue that caused check engine light. Told then that the driver was not available to pick me up right now but would get a call when they were. 1 hour and 40 minutes later told the driver was still busy but could get me in over an hour if I wanted to wait. Not my idea of service. Need to find another dealership since I paid for 6 services and an extended warranty.

With the several hours of job to have I needed a loaner car and I was given XC40, so no need finding the ways around it. My car looked like new after the service and so felt I .
