I’ve been a service customer for many years and - Mike Hren
I’ve been a service customer for many years and diligently maintain my lightly driven 2017 Expedition as well as previous Fords and at whatever the cost. In the last couple of years I’ve found disconcerting upselling of unnecessary services ( according to Ford’s maintenance guide). This last time (and it is the last time at this dealership), it was recommended I replace spark plugs at 40,000km earlier than the Ford guide. Also suggested throttle body maintenance, again nothing in the maintenance schedule although google search came up with 120,000km., which is my vehicle’s actual km. In reality, the vehicle just needed oil/filter and running board maintenance.
I also had an annoying ceiling rattle that had been addressed at no charge on a previous visit and I asked that it be looked at again because the problem persisted. Quoted $645 with no indication that work would be guaranteed.
You would think that a long-term customer who has spent upwards of $10,000 on service in last 4 years would be treated a little better.
Actual mechanical services have generally been fine…….service advisors……have lost my trust.
