This dealership staff told me I had to get mandatory services every other oil change for my warranty which I later found out was untrue. I told them I’m taking my car elsewhere for future services and all of a sudden my car needed multiple urgent services over $1k in services(things were rotting and rusted, fluid appeared dark, etc) I let them know my dads friend is a mechanic and he is who I used to go to get my car services done, so he can check out these issues they’re claiming. The story quickly changed to “it’s not a rush service, just something a car needs eventually”. I would not recommend this dealership unless you’re looking to pay extra for unnecessary services and tied selling. More

Purchased a new car from Brian. 2019 Civic Great guy. Very personable and respectful. The car needed minor service in Dec 2021 that the scheduler said would take no more than 30 min. and is considered " Very personable and respectful. She said my wife probably won't have time to finish a coffee before it's done. When my wife went to the appt, the woman said it would now take 1.5 hrs. But even after 1.5 hours of shopping in the area, she still hadn't been called that the service was complete. I called to find out what was going on. Steve told me the repair had not yet started. I expressed my disappointment at the appt starting out as 30 min, going to 1.5 hours and it's still not done? I told him my wife needed to go to work and was picking up the car. We'll reschedule the appt. By the time my wife walked back to the dealership, the repair was complete. Surprise! The point is, we were told 30 min, then 1.5 hrs. If we had known the repair was going to take a while, we would have made alternate arrangements. I suspect the repair was done while my wife was walking back to the dealership....or it was completed and someone dropped the ball in notifying the customer. Dealerships already get a bad rap...I've read some of the other reviews. But if you want people to respect you, you have to show respect as well. Don't make service promises you can't keep. More

I came in to get a new key&chip for my Honda CRV at the Sterling Honda location on Upper James in Hamilton on September 21st 2021. The dealership notified me that the key they cut would not fit the car and asked if I changed the locks in my car. This didn’t make sense because I wouldn’t of been able to use the original valet key to drive my car to the dealership if I had changed any locks… I was then asked to choose an option of replacing all my locks for a hefty fee since the key they cut did not work…I refused and returned to the dealership to try to figure out this problem. I returned and asked them to check it again because this “problem” sounded too absurd to me. And when I returned to the dealership, I confirmed the VIN number they used and matched it to my car registry and asked them to look further into it. Basically, it was assumed that it was MY problem that the key they cut did not work. After asking them to check AGAIN (which frankly, I do not think they double checked it after the initial cut), it turns out that they put in the incorrect VIN number... This was a waste of my time as they did not problem solve the issue further other than assuming that I changed the original locks and expected me to pay more to fix the problem that was never there to begin with. I do not know much about cars but I believe that it is common sense to double check issues if you receive a final result that wasn’t expected to begin with. This was a disappointing experience and I cannot help but feel distrust in the dealership. More
Horrible customer service! The service appointment was set up and told me that i could wait until the service is completed after 2-3 hrs and no shuttle service to get me home....so i took a time off from set up and told me that i could wait until the service is completed after 2-3 hrs and no shuttle service to get me home....so i took a time off from work during this busy week. On the day of appointment, the staff told me that they could not do the service same day and that i have to leave the car overnight and a shuttle will drop me home. they wasted my time. If they only told me that the shuttle will be available , i should not have wasted requesting for a personal day from work. The staff was not even apologetic. More
I have been dealing with Sterling since 2003. This is the only dealership I have felt safe with. There has only been two times I wasn't happy with the service and they were both corrected in minutes. I do not work well with 2 people on the service desk (read here I don't like them) so I have picked one person to deal with. Eric Bruni is awesome. I have gone so far as to only book appointments through Eric so I know he will be there when it's time for my appt. I will always deal with Sterling Honda as long as Steve Emiglio and Eric Bruni are there. As a woman and an older woman at that it is important for me to know that I will never be lied to or cheated where my car is concerned. More
I purchased my car at Image Honda and always go there for service. However, I was about to leave for a trip to Ottawa and my low tire pressure notification came on. I was was not welcomed by the first two people at the front , however they directed me to the service section where I was met by Tim. ( shuttle driver) wow did he ever turn my experience around. 5 stars!! He was so friendly so kind so funny and knowledgeable. He took care of my issue and also noticed I was low on washer fluid and filled that up. He took care of me right away as well. What an asset to your team. More

Denial of damage due to service Brought my 2017 Civic in for regular maintenance, as well as to ask for a payout summary so i could pay off my finance and upgrade in the near future Brought my 2017 Civic in for regular maintenance, as well as to ask for a payout summary so i could pay off my finance and upgrade in the near future When I return to pick up my car, there is white marks from some sort of liquid/chemical on the front bumper. I immediately point it out to the employee running the carwash and he claimed that it hasnt been washed yet as I had agreed to a complimentary wash. I didnt think anything of it at the time so we run it through the wash and I return straight home. When i go to check again upon getting out of the car, the white marks were still there. I immediately called service told them what happened and they told me to return so they can look at it. After multiple employees and the service manager tried wiping it off, they proceeded to lie to me and claim that there is no chemical they use that can damage my car.. When everyone knows how many chemicals there are in an automotive shop that can damage paint and plastic. Basically even after ensuring them that I have witnesses who saw my car before i brought it to them, they continued to deny and lie and refused to take responsibility for damaging my front bumper and then tried directing me to the nearest CarStar... The head manager was not there, and it was close to closing time so my plan was to return to speak to the manager so we could check the security cameras which would have clearly shown that there were no white marks on my bumper prior to the service. Luckily for them I've chosen to save myself the headache and stress of going back and dealing with the incompetence of this dealership. I will pay off my finance and take my future business elsewhere I would not recommend Sterling Honda to anyone and I worry for the people who bring their cars and investments to them because I truly feel like they do not value their customers at all More
