Buyer Bewere Extremely dissatisfied with the lack of professionalism and communication. My wife and I had sourced a vehicle at Owasco on their website that fit Extremely dissatisfied with the lack of professionalism and communication. My wife and I had sourced a vehicle at Owasco on their website that fit exactly what we were looking for. I called in and spoke with Emily about it and set up a time to go and look at it. My wife and I had our own finacing arranged for this vehicle and we agreed on a price for it. I was told several times that they priced the car too low and I was getting an amazing deal on the car. After looking at comparables that was right, it was a good price. Owasco had purchased the vehicle from VW finance and was being transfered from Halifax so we could not see the vehicle for about a week whilw we waiting for it to arrive. Emilu had Kelly in the finance office look to see if Owasco could get us a better deal on the finance but came up with nothing, and we were completely fine with that. Kelly was absolutely fantastic to deal with. So once the car arrives at Owasco my wife and I came to take a look at it and were very happy with the car. We then let our financier know that we will take the car. Up until this point everything was great and Emily had been a huge help. Here's where things broke down..... After the vehicle was transfered to our financier they then received a bill for the car that was $1000.00 plus hst more then the price that we agreed on. I called Owasco right after I found this out and was told that Emily was in training, I spoke with Eric and he told me thats the price and that I got the car at a fantasic price. He had no explanation and was rude. I had hand written notes that my wifeand I made when talking with Emily about the car and our financier had notes from her conversations with Emily. Unfortunately we did not get anything in writing from Emily. This all happened on Monday July 17th 2017 and it is now Monday July 31st and I have made several attempts to contact Emily and she has not returned any messages. My wife and I are extremely disappointed and feel like we have been taken advantage of. We had been made to feel that they were very happy to sell us this car and wanted us as their customer, Emily told us that she would help us out with the VW accessories we were looking at buying and be there for us if there was any issues. Now we feel the complete opposite and would never conduct any business with the Owasco brand at this point. Buyer bewere! More
Sub-par experience for my dream car I found my dream car- an almost-new volkswagen beetle. We found it on a Saturday, and signed the paperwork before we left the dealership that day. Som I found my dream car- an almost-new volkswagen beetle. We found it on a Saturday, and signed the paperwork before we left the dealership that day. Someone was using it as a daily commuting vehicle and I was told they wouldn't be driving it after the paperwork was signed however the paperwork said the vehicle had about 1,000 kilometres less than what it had when I picked it up. I was told conflicting information as to when it would be ready -long story short I didn't receive the car until the following Monday (six business days, nine actual days). I was told the oil would be changed just before I picked it up, but according to the car's computer it was changed more than 5,000 kilometers ago. I had to go back to the dealership on the Tuesday after I finished work because they hadn't switched the licence over to me and had ordered the incorrect floor mats. The vehicle began showing service reminders (to take it for service in 30 days) within the first week of owning it. Overall this experience was much more stressful than I thought it should be. I reached out to the General Manager of the dealership and although he got back to me very quickly to say this experience should be an enjoyable one instead of stressful, nothing else was done to improve the quality of service I received. I felt as though I was an inconvenience and my concerns were invalid. The General Manager did not greet me when I picked up the car nor follow up with me after I picked up the car despite my complaints with him. I had a few helpful people along the way, however I would advise to stay away from this dealership. I was very sad as this was a very big deal to me - I have never owned a newer car and I've wanted this vehicle in particular for more than 20 years. Very disappointed. EDIT: After a few months I received a personal call from Bob Verwey Jr. who apologized for my experience. He has offered to cover my first service through this dealership to try and make up for my experience purchasing this car. Although I'm still unsure as to whether or not I will return, I appreciate the effort in trying to make amends. More

Service customer and poor diagnosric ability. Brought a jetta in for service and was immediately welcomed with poor customer service from the service advisors. Service advisors were rude and didn Brought a jetta in for service and was immediately welcomed with poor customer service from the service advisors. Service advisors were rude and didn't seem very knowledgeable about the products and services. Once the car issue was determined, VW advisor asked if they could keep the car overnight so they didn't have to put everything back together but they were unwilling to provide any assistance on a shuttle request. Service advisor actually said they don't have time or resources. Spoke to the service manager but nothing was ever done and no efforts were made to make the experience at Owasco a pleasurable one. Very Sneaky people, a very disappointing experience !! Proceed with caution when purchasing a used vehicle from OWASCO VW in Whitby. I purchased a used vehicle from there, certified and e-tested. The engin Proceed with caution when purchasing a used vehicle from OWASCO VW in Whitby. I purchased a used vehicle from there, certified and e-tested. The engine service light came on twenty minutes after leaving the dealership, they did something "crafty" to get the vehicle to pass the emission test. Additionally the horn did not work on the vehicle. They did nothing to resolve the issue and said it was "Bad Luck" assuming no responsibility. Not the end of the world for me, but surely disappointing that this dealership did not care to do the right thing. A very disappinting experience, proceed with extreme caution with these guys !! More

Second Chances, New Beginnings, and Margot! I have been reading the Owasco reviews and have noticed that many of them are pretty bad. I won't lie. In the past, I've had one or two less-than-perfect service experiences with Owasco, but I believe in second chances (is there anyone among us who can afford not to?) and I also believe in Bobby Verwey, who has taken over as General Manager. Bobby has gone to bat for me on a couple occasions when when he was Manager for Pre-Owned Sales and I had a couple of concerns. Over the years, he's made me feel like a valued customer and deserving of his time and attention. With Bobby at the helm, I have renewed confidence in Owasco's commitment to customer service in all departments. Have you seen how he's responded to the concerns raised in the reviews here? I think his leadership will mark a turning point in Owasco's quality of service and I wouldn't hesitate to bring any concern to his attention. I have purchased several vehicles through Owasco and will never be able to give enough praise to Brand Specialist, Margot Myrie. Every time I purchased a car at Owasco, she took the time necessary to learn about my requirements and my preferences in order to find the best vehicle for me. Margot's communication and follow-up are excellent and we are now at the point where we can do our business over the phone or via e-mail, which is great for a loyal VW driver and Owasco customer who lives 2.5 hours from Whitby. I will keep buying my VWs at Owasco as long as Margot is there (or they perfect cloning). More

Extremely Poor Customer Service with our Service Experience My wife took her Jetta in to have our Extended Dent and Paint protection looked at. Pics were taken and the report was written up. Weeks went by with My wife took her Jetta in to have our Extended Dent and Paint protection looked at. Pics were taken and the report was written up. Weeks went by with nothing from the warranty people or the dealer. Phone calls were placed with promised call backs and "we'll look into it" but never were they followed through. Then we were told it was most likely "misplaced" and never offered any kind of follow up on the matter. No calls , apologies ... anything. It's like they don't want you there to bother them at all. These people do not know the first thing about customer service. It's like they don't want you to use the Paint protection warranty that you paid for. Totally unprofessional in every respect. More
