I was on vacation on the Lake Huron Shoreline and spent a couple of hours in the town of Goderich Ontario. I was interested in looking at new cars as I was thinking about trading mine in. I decided to drop in to some of the local dealers to pick up brochures and look.

McGee Pontiac, Buick, GMC Cadillac Motors is very old school and needs some customer service training. I told them and other dealers that I was going to look at several models and makes. When I told this to McGee sales reps, they bad mouthed the other dealers in the area and other manufacturers and bragged about being in business for over 70+ years. Shaking my head in disbelief, I talked to the locals about this and they recounted several similar encounters. However, if you can get past the sales staff, I learned that the service staff is excellent.

McGee Motors has the opportunity to become an excellent dealership if they improve their customer service. If their sales staff stopped bad mouthing other dealers, other automobile manufacturers and gossiping about their competitors in the area, they could become an excellent dealership and stay in business for the next 70 years. The bad mouthing and gossiping is a real turn off.
