Hi Virginia, I’m really sorry to read this awful review but I’m going to take the time to respond to it properly. In short, it sounds like you learned a hard and valuable lesson here. When you’re told your vehicle needs to be repaired, you should take those concerns more seriously next time. You brought the vehicle in for a check engine light being on (not a tune up). Upon inspection, our tech found the #3 cylinder had a misfire and determined that the right head gasket was faulty. The head gasket was leaking into the cylinder number 3. You were quoted $3228.53 plus tax to repair the head gasket. We told you it could take up to 10 days to complete this large repair. At this point, you declined the work and decided to take the vehicle home with you because you stated you couldn’t be without the car. Your Service Advisor Steve advised against this, and explained that driving a vehicle with a leaking head gasket is absolutely not recommended and could cause other significant problems. What do you know, 10 days later the vehicle was towed to the shop dead on arrival, and upon inspection it was determined the vehicle had severely overheated and that cylinder # 3 was hydro locked. This meant that the engine would now require replacement due to the leaking cylinder head gasket, and from trying to start a locked-up engine, the vehicle now also needs a new battery and a new starter, as both were shorted out while you were trying to start a locked-up engine. The wiring issue with the shifter is related to the towing of the vehicle since it would not start and they needed to use the override to get the vehicle in neutral. We did all we possibly could here to advise you properly, you chose to ignore all the information you were given. To take a vehicle out of the shop without completing the major repairs you know it needs, and then turn around and try to place the blame on the dealer once additional work needs to be done because of the additional damage you’ve done by ignoring the warnings you were given, is disingenuous at best, and downright dishonest at worst. We certainly hope you bring your business elsewhere, as we no longer have any desire to try and assist here. Good luck with the repairs, but this was caused by you driving a vehicle that was overheating with warning lights on and has no business being driven. This was a major mistake on your part, not ours.

That is great that you responded and had your staff been helpful in the same manner as your response, this would have not been my experience with Marino. I don’t intend to go back and forth, I posted my experience and hope others will avoid this place. Your staff was no where near as helpful or concerned at any time. I can see from your elaborate response, Marino does know what it should have done. Shame on you for your lack of caring from the beginning.
