Br I have been searching for a while for my dream Jeep, and in order to make up your mind on the sale sometimes it really is all about the sales guy. Brent was great !! He was easy to get along with which made it more easy to ask the important questions when buying a car. There is nothing I hate more than pushy sales people, you definitely don't get that vibe here. Brent McKay knew his stuff but also made it so fun - as it should be !! Now I'll be cruising in my Jeep Sahara to the beach and a HUGE thank you to making the buying process memorable ! Cheers ! The vehicle had 123451km on the odometer when we purchased it and we were told my our salesman (Mitch) that there was no warranty available for that vehicle because it had over 100000km on it (looking at the paperwork later I noticed that we were "offered but refused" extended warranty... this is inaccurate) Not knowing any better and trusting that these guys knew what they were doing we bought the car. The loan was with 9.9% and payments of $265.38 bi weekly (which we moved to monthly) On March 2nd 2017 the transmission failed and of course because of no warranty the dealership flat out refused to help us. In fact we were accused of causing the damage. Okay so less than 5 months and 4303km after the purchase of the car we drove it so hard that we broke it? Really? They tried to sell us a car not worth as much with more than 180000km on it but suddenly they could sell us a warranty on that car. I thought you weren't able to sell warranty on a car with more than 100000km on it? The payments were also way higher than our Escape at $325 bi weekly (I should also mention that they were selling a $16000 car for $22000) After talking with family and friends we decided it was a better financial decision to fix the Escape. We took it to our friend who owns his own transmission shop and had it scanned. The shop tells us that its going to be about a $5000 repair and also states that it is very unlikely that we caused the damage. We don't have that kind of money and family offered to help us out with the bill. (omg thanks so much) In the weeks that followed our business friend negotiated a deal that would help us out. We needed to get new cosigner (also turned to family for that) but they'd refinance our loan and write in a warranty for us. They'd fix the car too. The loan would be at 3.9% and the payments at $275 bi weekly. They would also give $500 cashback to our new cosigner and $500 cashback to us. The paperwork all checked out and we signed for the deal on March 22nd 2017. Okay cool so now everything's signed and now they can fix our car. We bring the Escape to them so they could begin work on March 23rd 2017. They provided us a loaner car. We were told our first payment would come out on April 3 2017. I called and spoke to Dallas on March 30th 2017 inquiring about our cashback check and without hesitating at all he told me it was mailed out two days ago on March 28th 2017. I waited a few more days and called again on April 3rd 2017 again inquiring about the cashback. The same man told me that the check was never mailed out because the deal hasn't been finalized as the bank was still verifying our income. Also we are still paying our original loan. They actually told us to put a stop payment on those payments. No word of a lie. This doesn't make any sense what so ever. When I asked why he told me he mailed it out I was told that "Jennifer is a popular name and I could have gotten you mixed up with another client." Seriously? Okay so new he'll call me when he knows something. I wait another week without hearing anything at all. No payment comes out on April 3rd 2017 and now I'm getting concerned. Why would you promise us this deal, have us sign for everything and be unable (unwilling?) to stand behind it? I wait until April 17th 2017 I call again - I need some answers! Dallas isn't in so I talk to Jesse. Jesse tells me that it looks like there's nothing they can do to "help" us. Well what the actual xxxx! I thought you'd have all your ducks in a row. You had us sign for a deal that didn't even exist. You lied to me about the cashback check and you lied to me about the warranty on our Escape in the first place. I call and speak to Dallas again the next day April 18th 2017. They are trying to get the deal approved through other banks. By now my patience is paper thin and I am so mad I could spit nails. I get a call back from Dallas on April 20th 2017. The only way they can approve this deal is if only the family cosigner is on the loan with an 8.9% interest rate, $320 bi weekly payments and no cashback. This is unacceptable. I asked why it took so long and was told they were trying to get us approved. I asked for a detailed reason as to why they were unable to stand behind the deal that was offered, accepted and signed for and was told our income was not strong enough. Isn't this all stuff you should have figured out before you have people sign papers? I told him that I felt this was extremely unprofessional and underhanded. I also told him I would be exploring other avenues to getting our money back. We returned the loaner car and took the Escape back to the transmission shop for repair. This is where we are now. More

Waste of My Time I don't normally even glance at used cars, but I noticed a car on the MacNeil Motors (Martensville SK) website - less than a year old with very low km I don't normally even glance at used cars, but I noticed a car on the MacNeil Motors (Martensville SK) website - less than a year old with very low kms. So I had to at least take a look. When I arrived at the dealership, I was taken into the big garage area and seated at one of their fold out dining tables with rental style bulk chairs... not a great first impression. The salesman came, and before I could even ask about the car - he starts a credit application! I let him know I was just there for a look at a particular vehicle, but he pushed the credit application and wanted to see my driver's license... which I produced, but shouldn't have. Credit app? Forget it! For the second time I asked about the car. The "salesman" (term used loosely) pointed to the lot and told me to go take a look and "see if something interested me". Now I was getting irritated. Hadn't I asked already to see a specific car? So I headed out the door to find the car on my own... except it wasn't anywhere to be found on the property. I went back to my so-called salesman, and asked for the third and last time about the car I wanted to see. I was told to have a seat and he would be "right with me". I waited. By this time 45 minutes had passed, and I was no closer to browsing the phantom car than when I walked in! Finally I had enough. 55 minutes and treated like crap... they could have offered me one of their vehicles for a hundred bucks and I would have told him where to stuff it. Back to my sales rep to retrieve my driver's license, which he was still walking around with. He says "I gave it back, didn't I"? Okay, that's it. I let him know what I thought of this two bit mickey mouse operation, and in my opinion - while this car MAY have existed at one point, it most certainly no longer did... and they were nothing but BS artists. Done and out. 1 full lunch hour gone, and nothing accomplished. Good riddance - and I will walk everywhere before I EVER darken the doorway of this bunch of bandits again. More
Don't get me started! Funny that there's a 25 word minimum for this review because I challenge anyone to say something good about this dealership in 25 words or less! My d Funny that there's a 25 word minimum for this review because I challenge anyone to say something good about this dealership in 25 words or less! My daughter is a student at NSCC Marconi Campus in Cape Breton, and she is taking her LPN course to help others with their lives. Her life was recently turned topsy-turvy by this poor excuse for a dealership! She had to get a cosignor for a 2013 Ford Escape with 39000kms priced at $22000 with a biweekly payment of $272 which we, as her parents, were willing to pay once a month as she paid the other. Having just renegotiated our own home, we couldn't be her consignor, so her grandmother, my mother, decided she wanted to help her granddaughter with the vehicle. When all was said and done, MacNeil Motors made my mom the principal owner of the vehicle even though she was 84, and never drove in her life, and doesn't have a driver's license. Oh wait, it gets better! When we found out my mom was having the money taken from her account instead of my daughter's, I went to see the financial officer, Lloyd to rectify the situation. He said he couldn't do it, but we would have to do it through the bank. So, I believed him, and went to the bank, but they told me MacNeil Motors would have to switch the payments. I proceeded to fax the account info from my daughter to MacNeil Motors, not once, but twice, just to make sure they received it. In a couple of days, I received a call from the financial institution about the situation with the vehicle because a stop payment was placed on the account of my mother. After talking to the bank that called, and btw they mentioned that something must be wrong on MacNeil Motors side because they never get calls back usually when contacting people like ourselves, they said that this deal was not done "above board"! They also mentioned that they were going to get to the bottom of this sooner than later. We kept in constant contact with them, and the bank really appreciated this fully! They looked up the paperwork to discover several inconsistencies that, in bankers' terms, just didn't add up! One discrepancy was in regards to a trade-in which we didn't have, but the bank said makes it easier for the dealer to "work the numbers" to make it seem like the amount financed is less. Also, the paperwork didn't jive! We have a copy that says my mom's name and my daughter's name, but fails to name my daughter, the student, as principal owner, but says principal owner is "retired"! So, putting two and two together to get four, my mom is named principal owner because she is retired! 483 words so far, but because I'm on vacation, I've got lots more to say! Another thing that makes me wonder how these guys are still in business, but I'll get back to that in a moment, is how do they believe that people are so naive to believe rhetoric that makes the average sane person bang their head against the wall?! Don't they realize that when people have nothing to lose they'll risk everything?! Innate stupidity doesn't even scratch the surface of their mentality! For them to promote themselves as a "family business" only causes me to believe that they must truly dislike their family!! The MacNeil brothers, Brenon, come on, who spells their name like that, and Jeff, must be really proud of misleading their customers to the point that those said customers want retribution, and I'm not talking about a pound of flesh, but maybe something crazier, although I'm a Christian and would never want anyone to befall any harm over a stinking car!!!!!! It's just that! Why hold yourself in high regard for duping people that want only to have a vehicle they can call their own! I hope some day that these two brothers have an ephinany or some other spiritual awakening that allows them to reconcile just what they're doing to the general public. Shame on you both doesn't even come close! I digress! Further to the aforementioned going out of business I alluded to earlier, you'll be happy to know that David beat Goliath once again! Yes, that's what makes this review so uplifting! MacNeil Motors lost this one! The bank ordered them to buy back the vehicle at a much higher cost, and pay restitution to my mother for the payments they received, and also to give us back the trade-in. Wait a tic! There was no trade-in! Also, I get to write this review for all to see! Oh yeah, did I mention the fact that I reached out to some other dissatisfied customers to plan our next actions going forward? Must have slipped my mind. Not on your life! One more thing, the financial institution that I dealt with has pulled their lending hand, and will no longer be fronting any future deals with MacNeil Motors!!!! Also, as you can probably tell by now, I'm a very well-written, well-spoken adversary that has forwarded this story to CBC, CTV, Global, W5, Marketplace, and their affiliates, one of them happening to be a partnership of two women that expose these kinds of businesses for what they really are! They're called Gopublic! So, even if MacNeil Motors doesn't go belly up, I can guarantee that they may change their tactics if they think that any one of their new customers might be involved in a sting operation from one of the above mentioned consumer advocates! Gotcha! Also, if you're reading this and you're one of the aforementioned disgruntled customers, please contact me at 9025610895. I'll be glad to add you to my ever growing list! More
Lies and running around! I got sucked in to applying online, a $500 gift card for getting a car, can lower my interest rate, and everyone is approved! What could go wrong righ I got sucked in to applying online, a $500 gift card for getting a car, can lower my interest rate, and everyone is approved! What could go wrong right?! Kev emailed me almost immediately, and we started the process, pay stubs, contacting my employer etc. I said upfront I didn't have a consigner or a down payment and I have negative equity in my loan. "No problem" Kev says. So Saturday I am heading towards Dartmouth, and Kev says yes, everything is good to go, come pick out your car! Got there at 1230, and sat and waited for about 2 hours. Kev then got me a car to test drive, I liked it, but test drove another. Decided I wanted to go with first one. So I waited and waited, around 3 (after Kev telling me, sorry just 5 more mins) we sat down to start to do the deal! We agreed on a $273 payment. So we wait and wait and wait some more, I had to go get a few things done, so Kev threw me the keys of said new car and said take that! I drove around in "my" new car, got back to dealership around 5, and still waited and waited and waited. Kev tells me I won't be able to take the new car today, cause it needs to be inspected and detailed. So I say what am I waiting for? Bank papers to sign. Finally around 545pm the papers printed. I start to sign and Kev is rushing through, and I say so payment is $273, right? Well no it's now $294. Why couldn't you tell me that? Well we just find out. By now I'm sick of all the xxxxxxxxx, but I'm so close to being done, I just want to have it over with. I sign, give them a void check, and make plans to get my car on Tuesday. Tuesday comes and I don't hear from Kev, so I call, and before I leave and drive an hour or so to dealership, I say, I will have the car today, right, Kev? Oh yes he says! So I drove down to do a little shopping, and I wait to hear from Kev, again I call him, he says it's 2nd to go in for inspection, I again clarify it'll be done today, again he agrees, I will have the car today. In the meantime my work called me to clarify they were allowed to speak to a bank that had called to confirm my employment. So, I wait until 430, then drive to MacNeils, I see my car, all clean and inspected, go inside and ask to speak to Kev. I sit and wait and wait, around 530, I spoke to someone walking by, and said, can you let Kev know, I am done, I don't want the deal, I don't what the car anymore, I walked out. My husband however didn't, he stayed and argued, and let them know how they treated me is wrong. My husband came out to ask me to wait 5 more minutes, as per the owner, they were just waiting for my work to confirm my employment?! Brennan came out by my car and explained that the papers I signed were only based on my employer confirming my employment?! I had already signed, gave a void check, but it wasn't a guarantee that it was mine?! Brennan was a cocky, arrogant man, who told me he was doing me a favour by making a deal with me. 😒 Saying he was making no money on my deal etc etc. Told me he had another bank looking in to my situation, and said he'd call me the next day to let me know how it goes. But I should call him, if he happens to forget, he is so busy! I called at noon, and now I need a co-signed, because I'm classed as part time (um you knew that when I talked from the beginning?!) All in all it was a big waste of time, 2 days spent down there, expecting to come home with a new car. Then be treated like they did me a favour?! Never ever would I go there again, NOT would I recommend anyone go there! More
