On Dec. 14, 2022, I placed an order at Hyundai of Oakville for a 2023 Hyundai Elantra Preferred, with a $2500 deposit. The given time-frame of order arrival 14, 2022, I placed an order at Hyundai of Oakville for a 2023 Hyundai Elantra Preferred, with a $2500 deposit. The given time-frame of order arrival was given as 4-6 months. I checked with the dealership in May/2023 and was told that there were delays and would have to wait until September or October. They also assured me that I would be notified on its arrival. Subsequently, I received an email from Hyundai Canada (on June 12) informing me that my vehicle had been shipped from Korea. I waited and waited in vain for a notification from Hyundai of Oakville as to the status of my order. When I inquired in November, the agent told me that a trace had to be initiated. In December, they informed me that my intended vehicle had been "mistakenly" sold to another customer. I suspect the real reason for selling it to someone else was because they were offered a higher price. They tried to sell me a used SUV "at a discount" which I neither needed nor wanted. On December 14, 2023, they refunded my deposit of $2500, but refused to provide any compensation -- not even interest on my deposit -- for having missed out on other (at least 3 better) purchase deals while waiting for my vehicle, and for the inconvenience, lost time and aggravation caused by their failure to deliver the order. This dealership is running a SCAM, so BUYERS BEWARE. NOTE 1: If I can find the time, I'm still considering taking legal action against them. NOTE 2: It's rather ironic that I was planning to place a second order with them (to replace my wife's vehicle, an aging 2011 Grand Caravan) upon receiving the initial order. The service manager is refusing to provide the service recommended by Hyundai Canada, as it is a lot less expensive than what they want. He told me that I either do what they want or they don't do anyth recommended by Hyundai Canada, as it is a lot less expensive than what they want. Last time I did that, my electric vehicle was in the shop for 10 minutes before they told me that it is ready to go, $175 at the time x 10 minutes, equals $1050/hour. And he still has a job! I called another dealership, same service $49. Scammers! More

Only potential solution was to download updated electronics which would take up to 3 hours to download and another 3 to upload. This is more BLAH THAN WAH. I figured out how to fix it myself. Enclosed with the work order was a set of instructions that told us how to go online to update the EGR logic/and update the ECU/HCU. WHAT A JOKE--WE WERE TO UPDATE THE LOGIC SYSTEM ON A NEW CAR. Called another Hyundai dealer who indicated that the statement was ridiculous and that they often get new clients as a result of this shoddy experience. We are a new client. Would not recommend More
I went in for an oil change and to get my second key fob programmed but when I left and got on the highway I realized I didn't have my key fob and I couldn't see it in the car so I called the dealership rig programmed but when I left and got on the highway I realized I didn't have my key fob and I couldn't see it in the car so I called the dealership right away I left a message with the service department telling them I was just there and they didn't give me the key fob and to call me back and they did not. I went back a month later and they had lost my key fob, or it was gone anyway and they told me that they gave it back to me and I was lying for saying that they didn't. They also called me a liar and said I did not call the dealership and leave a message. I called the dealer again and asked to speak to the dealer principal because I had a complaint about service department and of course they did not call me again. Hyundai Canada just agreed with whatever the dealership said and would not help me. Despite having 14 free oil changes still to go at the Steeler I will not be going there ever again. I did nothing wrong yet they called me a liar twice to my face. This is the worst customer experience I've ever had. This was my first Hyundai and it may be the last. More
I feel sorry for the staff working in the service department at Hyundai of Oakville because they have a system that works against them. Our air conditioner is broke. Got the car a year old in January and the first time we tried it, it didn't work and we were told 'we' did the damage to the compressor. Bull. So a week passes and they call to tell us they got the part needed. But the scheduling of the appointment is now 3 weeks away. Means we are unable to use the car for approximately 2 months while we await our appointment. This is just another feather in the cap of bad customer service of Hyundai of Oakville. Bought over 8 cars from them. Never used their service until this year. My mistake. Won't use service or buy another car from them ever again as a result of the bad experience. Not once have they offered an apology or even offered to assist in some additional service or price deduction even though there is no way to prove that we didn't buy the car with the broken air conditioning unit. Sad. I will be using the full weight of the media once I finally get my car back. More

Worse is that even with absolute frustration, they don't even throw you a bone and attempt to mitigate a cost or find something that would have you leave as a valued customer. Been going here for decades. Never again. If I could get rid of both of my Hyundai's as a result of what I experienced this year - I would. Beware! More
