Last Friday, Susan and I were driving back from Comox to Parksville when our engine light came on. I said to Susan I would call Kia when we got home. As we approached Bowser, I got messages for Check Automatous Braking, Check Smart Cruise Control and 4 warning lights came on. We stopped at the Nile Creek beach access and turned the car off. I phoned the service department at 1:30PM. They said they could get me in at 3:25PM. When we pulled out of onto the old highway and went about 1/2 KM, a message “Turn off the engine” came on. I pulled over and restarted the car. It took Riley the better part of an hour to diagnose the problem as a faulty crankshaft sensor. Michelle advised me of the issue and said the car was OK to drive but if all the warnings lights started to flash, have the car towed in. She ordered a part and it would be 4-6 weeks before it arrived. The ride home was very rough and jerky and I had no power to go up the hill outside of Nanoose and the car slowed to 60kph with the petal to the metal. We didn’t go anywhere over the weekend until this past Wednesday when we had to go to Nanaimo. On the way, a message “Turn off the Engine” and “Check hybrid system” came on. After a restart we continued to Nanaimo and back home. Yesterday (Thursday) Susan was running errands around Parksville and twice had to restart the engine in the space of 1/2 KM. It unnerved her completely. When she got home I called Michelle and informed her the car was not drivable. She said to call roadside assistance and have the car towed in. I asked for a courtesy vehicle. She said she needed to see if one was available and would get back to me. Yes a vehicle was available. I made arrangements to get the car towed in and said I would be by today (Friday) around 1-ish to pick up the courtesy car. At 12:45 just before I left home, I got a call from Jacob to tell me that our car was ready to go. I was stunned. I had my neighbour drive me in. It turns out it was the camshaft sensor and not the crankshaft sensor. They snagged one from a 2022 model on the lot and installed it our our 2019. The car was washed and vacuumed and fully charged up. The ride home - wow - hadn’t had that sort of get up and go in several months. Anyway I just wanted to let you know that Susan and I were very pleased with how your team handled the whole experience and I want to express our gratitude and thanks to Michelle, MacKenzie, Jacob, Steve, Jeff and Riley for going above and beyond. I am sure others of your team had a hand in this and also express our thanks to them as well. More

Outstanding. When I destroyed a tire in a pothole they did everything possible to accommodate us even though they are not our dealer. Arranged a ride, stayed late to replace tire and do alignment and had did everything possible to accommodate us even though they are not our dealer. It was a great experience how I was treated royally too bad I can’t do it every week. Marcelo was wonderful and so was the finance manager Christine. In my handful of visits to Harris Kia, I have spoken to Dave Bare several times. He has been always helpful and friendly. I have seen that same interaction with other customers and his employees. The dealership is pleasant and efficient without a lot of expensive infrastructure that has to be paid for ultimately by the customers. I purchased a 2021 Seltos for my wife and we both like it a lot. The sales department was no pushover but we found the deal that we both found agreeable. The Seltos has all the features we want without being too “precious”. Service department has been attentive. More
I had the pleasure to deal with Michelle in the Service department and I must admit her customer-oriented approach made my day. Not only was she able to get my vehicle for a quick check up, but she also se department and I must admit her customer-oriented approach made my day. Not only was she able to get my vehicle for a quick check up, but she also sent me a video of the work and was able to complete this all in a matter of a couple of hours. Michelle left a lasting impression on my family as this was a memorable experience and I will be highly considering purchasing future vehicles from Harris Kia. More

Excellent customer service and workmanship The staff of the service centre are friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. Even though we have an older car, they did a thorough check of the car. They let us decide what and how much would be done. No pressure. The loaned us a beautiful 2020 KIA Soul overnight at no extra charge. We are very pleased with the work done. Our old car is now a reliable vehicle. We can drive with peace of mind. More
