Avoid Brandfon Hyundai like the plague and FILE FORMAL COMPLAINTS AGAINST THEM TO THEM BBB! I have bought 2 brand new cars (worth more than $60k in purchase price) and spent thousands of dollars to get my car serviced at a premium almost exclusively at Brandfon Hyundai in New Haven since 2012. when i bought my 2019 ioniq PHEV they lied to me and told me that i needed to file the paperwork with the state for the EV rebate. As a result of this lie, i was unable to get the state rebate for my car. when i brought this to them to ask them to make it up, they told me NO. Against my better judgement, i continued to service my car with them out of sheer convenience but vowed to never buy a car from them again. I had my most recent car (2019 Ioniq PHEV) serviced on 9/22/23, and paid ~$250 to have the tires balanced & rotated, oil & filter changed, fluids checked, multipoint inspection completed. I work from home, so do not drive a lot, and this car being a PHEV allows me to get around town and do 80% of my travel on the all electric motor but i have been noticing a growing oil spot in my driveway and had been noticing burning gas smell since the fall. I checked under my hood today (1/17/27) and was astonished to see that my oil cap was not put back onto my engine and oil was everywhere inside the engine compartment. I called the service department and spoke to a rep, who was told by the master tech that it's not their fault, and "the timeline doesn't add up". I asked to speak with a manager, who told me that too much time had elapsed since my last oil change so it was not their fault and they didn't believe me that they were the last to service the car. Since this is an advanced type of car, being a PHEV, i have serviced it almost exclusively (except for a recent brake job) with them. I don't let anyone else touch the car. They have nearly destroyed my $35k car that i bought and serviced from them and told me they were not going to take any responsibility for this. Also anyone reading this who is disgruntled and been wronged by these crooks, File a formal complaint with the BBB and to Hyundai Corporate. More

It seems that they are more interested in making sales than attending to customers. Had a 7 PM appointment for delivery but apparently my salesman was too busy trying to land another sale than keep the appointment. My salesman wasn’t even the person who delivered my vehicle and the vehicle was delivered without even taking the time to show how things worked with it. I would not buy from this dealer again. More
Went in to finance a 2024 Tucson and found that they wanted to triple dip on document fees by charging me twice as much on conveyance fees and once more on non tax fees. I asked for the contract and they wouldn't give it to me sonI could review with them line by line, charge by charge. I've done my homework on hidden fees. Max cap CT allows on conveyance fees is $415 and they wanted $895, and then wanted an extra $355 for non tax fees for title, registration and licensing. That should all be in cluded on the conveyance fee.They should be ashamed of their shady business dealings and should be shut down as a whole. Go on YouTube and learn what fees not to pay. I ended up walking out. More
I started an oil consumption test for my SUV in September 2023, went for the check in 1,000 miles in October 2023, and again in November. The advisor told me there was no record of me being there in October 2023, went for the check in 1,000 miles in October 2023, and again in November. The advisor told me there was no record of me being there in October so I would need to start the test again and pay for oil when I already paid to start the test and I was told that the oil would be covered from what I paid from here on out. My car is burning oil at a rate and there seems to be no structure and no one knows what they are doing. Everyone says something different and nothing was submitted to Hyundai to see if it will be covered under warranty. The customer service was absolutely TERRIBLE. The advisor just gave the excuse of “well we didn’t break your car” like if that’s the reason why I was there. No professionalism and completely disappointing to say the least. They ended up putting oil in the car but left my car in the driveway, oil spilled all over my motor and the hood was left completely open. More
My car was towed to Brandfon on Sunday after we lost all power on a drive to our sons house. The car was there sunday night and left the key in early bird box. It is now Tuesday 10:20 am and I still have h power on a drive to our sons house. The car was there sunday night and left the key in early bird box. It is now Tuesday 10:20 am and I still have had no contact from Brandfon. This is our only car. I can't get a person on the phone, and I have left voicemails. Not a good way to run a service dept. Bought our Tucson from them because had a 2001 sonota that was great. With this brand new 2017 Tucson that still only has 17,000 miles. We have had it at the dealership 3 times over past 6 months for sam that was great. With this brand new 2017 Tucson that still only has 17,000 miles. We have had it at the dealership 3 times over past 6 months for same problem noise when starting car noise from transmission when driving and car has rough idle at stop each time they keep it for 3-5 weeks don’t offer a car to use while it’s there keep giving it back to us with same issue not resolved you have to leave multiple messages to get a call back horrible customer service they rude when my wife and have spoken to different people from here. No confidence in mechanics that they can’t seem to fix it and return it to us with problems not resolved. Even managers don’t return calls. Have been back 2 more times just got car back again and with 15 miles noise is back. Told by dealer we can leave it again if we want safe to drive with noise don’t know what it is. They also charged us for new air filter and fuel injection cleaning to see if that resolved it. When it didn’t wasn’t refunded. Don’t even want it anymore would prefer my money back or trade in for new one since we can’t drive this one and it can’t be fixed right it’s a lemon but have not been given that option may have to contact an attorney or go to the news so every one can see how long time customer treated. Complained to corporate also was told over 2 weeks ago they would call m back. No call back still despite us leaving multiple messages. More
