There was no sales pitch just a lot of great information on the vehicle and got a great deal I was very happy with the price We will definitely purchase our next vehicle here and tell others to do the same. Excellent sales support - UNCLEAR warranty extension We purchased an off-lease 2013 Subaru Forester 2.5 X Touring 5 speed manual from Barrie Subaru this April 2015. The 5 speeds are rare so we had to act We purchased an off-lease 2013 Subaru Forester 2.5 X Touring 5 speed manual from Barrie Subaru this April 2015. The 5 speeds are rare so we had to act quickly. The car had just arrived and they were still doing prep work but Paul Santaera went out of his way to get us extra pictures that weren't on the website. He met us the next day to show the car, took us for a test drive, went over everything they would tidy up for the sale and stayed well overtime to work out the specifics and initial contract for the sale. He was friendly and courteous and went out of his way to make the sale, by Monday he had three new inquiries. On the Extended Warrantee sale, either we were too thick to understand, rushed for time or Michael Hiltz didn't explain the warranty extension clearly enough. Researching warranties, we now understand that an extended warranty is from the car's ORIGIN date and not from the date of purchase. The wording and sales pitch need to be clear. The manufactures warrantee is for 3 years. The extension purchased only EXTENDS the warrantee to for the quoted duration. When we bought an extension to 72 months we were really only extending the existing factory warranty by 3 years. The actual purchase was for 3 extra years of warranty. The 72 month language is deceiving. Tell the buyer what they are actually purchasing, this lack of clarity leads to anger and mistrust. Maybe we were confused or Mike assumed too much. The language and warranty documentation perpetuate the misunderstanding. Clean up the sales act please. More
Second to None Our four year Buick Lacrosse lease was coming up and my husband really liked his vehicle so he was thinking about leasing the same vehicle or a 2015 S Our four year Buick Lacrosse lease was coming up and my husband really liked his vehicle so he was thinking about leasing the same vehicle or a 2015 Subaru Outback. We started discussions with the sales consultants at both dealerships and Paul Santaera from Subaru Barrie put everything into perspective. He made us understand the Outback's excellent safety features, especially their newest technology "eye sight" as well as it being an all wheel drive vehicle and financially saving us $10,000. My husband wanted a white 3.6 Outback and Paul was able to quickly secure one from Japan as Canada has very little supply. Paul's expertise and knowledge in assisting with making our decision led us into his dealership and he further demonstrated his skills as a top-notch professional salesman. We knew we were in excellent care and had placed 100% confidence in Paul. We had purchased several vehicles in the past and we can honestly admit that Paul is second to none. He wastes no time, he speaks from the heart and genuinely makes your car buying experience flawless and worry free. Upon delivery of the vehicle, he thoroughly went through the features and continued to demonstrate his knowledge and passion of the auto industry. Not only do we "love" our new Outback but have now found an honest and reliable sales consultant who is continuing to display his interest after the sale to ensure we are completely satisfied. More
Exceptional car-buying experience I'll be honest - I hate the car-buying process. This time around I really did my homework though. I ended up going to five different dealerships aroun I'll be honest - I hate the car-buying process. This time around I really did my homework though. I ended up going to five different dealerships around Barrie, considering as many options as I could for the style of vehicle my wife and I planned on buying. It was unfortunate for the other dealerships, though, that Barrie Subaru was my first stop (never having owned a Subaru before). No other dealership was as pleasant to deal with, and no other vehicle I test drove compared to a Subaru. As a salesman, Paul was excellent to deal with - professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and above all he didn't act like a "normal" salesman. He answered all eight million questions my wife and I asked, helped run all the numbers I asked of him, and ultimately made it very easy for us to choose a Subaru. Mike made working out the finances easy, and just like another reviewer stated, simply presented my wife and I with additional options but in no way pressured us to purchase any. As far as the quality of the vehicle is concerned (we bought a 2015 Forester), I shouldn't have to tell you how fantastic it is. When we purchased our Forester we were told, again like another reviewer, that it might take some time to locate one since one with our requested options wasn't in stock. Fortunately a model was found relatively close by within a couple of weeks, and we were able to immediately take it on a road trip south to put it through its paces. Obviously I'm still in the honeymoon phase, but when our second vehicle's time comes to an end I'm going to be hard-pressed not to want to buy another Subaru from Paul! More
No Pressure too buy We were out to purchase a new car and had gone to many various car dealerships looking for a compact vehicle. Upon arriving at Barrie Subaru, met Paul and he suggested taking the Impreza out for a test drive and told us to take it to a local area and try spinning it, to see exactly how it handled. Upon completion of the test drive, Paul went over the complete vehicle, options and the price not with holding (not telling you) any extra charges that would be placed on the vehicle at the time of purchase. He did not place any pressure on purchasing the vehicle, he said think it over, check out the other completion and when you are ready to buy, give him a call to set up another appointment. He sent us an email thanking us for testing out the Impreza and that he was available for any questions. Again no pressure in buying. We did that and decided that the Impreza was the car for us. We made another appointment with Paul and he helped us negotiate a deal that we were satisfied with. We then worked with Mike on the financing side and again he did not pressure us into buying any of the extras but to take them home and review them all and if we wanted any of them to let him know. They did not have the vehicle in stock but found the vehicle within two days in the colour that we wanted. It took a couple of weeks to get the vehicle from another dealership but we were in no hurry to receive it. We now have the vehicle and are enjoying it. More
