I was in a hurry as I was caring for my 91 year old mother who was very ill. I paid cash with no trade in ... and we agreed on a price including the $299 charge for lifetime nitrogen in the tires $699 for toyota platinum package which included all of and of two oil changes . Next day I go to pick up the car and the crooks added FL LAW TIRE / BATTERY FEE $455 and $887 for dealer profit and processing. I was shocked and when asked about it, the sales crook said "hey ... we've got to make money on the deal, too." My ride had left to get to his job and to this day I regret "taking it in the shorts" and paying it. More

Around 2018 the vehicle stability control would suddenly arrest the rotation of one of the front wheels while going around a curve, especially if the van was going downhill. This was terrible in eastern Tennessee but intermittent in Florida. Toyota of Fort Walton Beach (Toyota of FWB) told me it needed to be constant to find the problem. As long as I avoided hill country, it was intermittent. Early last year I noted the cruise control failure warning would come on, intermittently, when the cruise control was on but not engaged. Then, late last year, after starting the engine, the transmission shift lever would not come out of Park. After a period of time, it would unstick. But the biggest annoyance for the last five years was the accelerator would periodically not change the gear or the speed of the van when pressed. This usually occurred soon after beginning to drive and would happen with gentle curves right or left when going up an incline. Again, Toyota of FWB cannot help until it is constant, say the service advisors. In January of 2020 a Toyota mechanic/technician thought the transmission was the cause so I had a new transmission put in. I picked up the van, drove a few miles and immediately returned. I told them the problem was still there. I was told it took a while for the computer to work with the new transmission. Then the pandemic occurred so we drove less. Meanwhile I felt the problem was slowly getting more frequent. On 5 Jan 2024 when I took my van into Toyota of FWB for an alignment, Robert, a Toyota technician, brought it around to me and happened to mention that he felt the shift lever stick in Park and that I might consider a new brake light switch. So, on 9 Jan 2024 I had Toyota put in a new Stop Light Switch Assembly. Now, for more than a month, the vehicle stability control has not startled us with suddenly braking one of the front wheels. For more than a month, the cruise control has not shown a failure light. For more than a month, the shift lever is easily moved out of Park. And, most importantly for me, for more than a month, whenever I push the gas pedal, the van accelerates – every time. Thank you, Robert at Toyota of FWB. May God bless. You have given me back my van. Parenthetically, these switches are $35 to $47 at Autozone, Advance Auto. Toyota charged $126.67. There are videos online showing how to replace it. Toyota charged $85 labor. But these costs are miniscule compared with a $5000 transmission and more than five years of progressive annoyance, apprehension, and insecurity. More
It’s sad that you think you can trust a company to stand behind their product but find out they couldn’t care less about a customer, they just want their money. Worst service department I’ve ever experienced. All three visits I’ve made to this location were disastrous regarding timing. Oil change 2.5 hours… Unbelievable. Never again.
