I purchased a previously owned 2013 Dodge Durango in August 2023 to replace my work vehicle to tow trailers 1-2 times a month as far as Utah and back. I've had nothing but trouble with this car since I purchased it. Beginning with the purchase, I specifically told the salesperson I would need a fully comprehensible warranty for at least 3years with the purchase. After some abysmal options, my request was granted, or so I thought. I was told I had a bumper-to-bumper warranty and could take it to any certified mechanic of my choice to have repairs done. After being rushed through the signing process so they could close, I found I had 1-tier below a full bumper-to-bumper warranty, and the dealership had a clause inserted where I had to bring it to them for repairs if within 50 miles. I asked about this but was told it was the best they could do. The staff explained that it covered everything except rubber parts and brakes. In the next four months, my car would be in the shop more than I could drive it. I received my vehicle with the front seat taken apart and no longer working, and not how I purchased it. I brought it back directly to the salesman, who corroborated my story. It would be 3 months before the dealership had it correctly fixed. Next were two bad motor mounts and front suspension work. I took it to Pep Boys, where all my vehicles are serviced, only to find I was required to bring it to the dealership, not what I wanted, but I needed my vehicle fixed. Only one motor mount and the front suspension work were approved. My car was in the shop for three weeks. After the repair, I took it to Pep Boys for a complete diagnostic and found the dealership had torn one of my CV boots during repair. I returned it to the dealership and waited two days to get it fixed. While in the shop, I had work out of state and had to rent another vehicle for work. By this point, I had spent money on the down payment and one loan payment. Upon returning from work, I could finally take my vehicle home and get ready to travel for my next job. It would be the first time I used my car for what I intended. The car ran great for part of my travels. Returning home, I had a minor glitch, but it seemed to correct itself (glory to God). The minor glitch turned out to be significant as my transmission went out completely. I took it to the dealership and waited four weeks to have my transmission replaced. I wanted to take it to a reputable transmission shop in town, which stated I would be back on the road within five business days. However, I was forced to take it back to the dealership. After many complaints, the repair manager stated they would release my vehicle wherever I chose next time something went wrong. After replacing my transmission, the dealership attempted to charge me for my warranty's deductible. However, I was within my 90-day 3000-mile dealership warranty, which came without a deductible. Once returned to me, I took a short trip to Reno, where another issue arose. This time, an O2 sensor, the second motor mount that didn't get fixed, an oil leak, and a catalytic converter needed replacing. My catalytic converter was not covered because I did not have a bumper-to-bumper warranty. At this point my car has been in the shop for over 60 days in total. If this isn't the definition of a "LEMON," I don't know what is. Unfortunately, because it's been in the shop for so long, it took longer to find the rest of these problems, and my original 3-month and 3,000-mile warranty through the dealership is null and void. I'm stuck with paying almost 3K to replace my catalytic converter. I've now made four payments for a car I've only driven on two trips. And now this! The dealership's mechanics never thoroughly inspected my Durango before selling it to me. Or, they knowingly sold me a "LEMON!" Anyone thinking about purchasing a vehicle from Chico Nissan should run in the other direction. More

Update on 9/11/23: Well, it happened again and I’m gonna have to part ways with Chico Nissan. After reminding the service advisor of my sensitivity to cleaning up after an oil change at the start of my visi have to part ways with Chico Nissan. After reminding the service advisor of my sensitivity to cleaning up after an oil change at the start of my visit (something I don’t feel like I should have to do), I got home, looked at the undercarriage, and found oil residue dripping and sprayed all over the undercarriage components. Is it really that much to expect someone to clean up when getting service from the dealership charging nearly $200 per hour? On top of this they were kind to offer a complimentary car wash. Problem is they seemed to wash with their used dirty water and then left the car to drip dry. At 95 degrees outside, the water spots are now set on the glass and finish. Sure, they will come out but yours truly gets to do that extra work. Additionally, you should check your wash equipment. Your brush left a big plastic scuff mark down the length of my camper shell. It came out with 15 minutes of rubbing compound thankfully. I don’t suggest you just randomly spray engine compartment dressing under my hood without properly wiping it down. You left wet, greasy spots that I had to clean up. Really guys, come on. When I get home from paying premium prices for dealer service, I should not have to do a bunch of extra work. Sorry we need to part ways. You had your second chance and you blew it. Never again! ************ Previously, I’ve been very happy with Chico Nissan. That changed a bit today after I discovered oil dripping from the undercarriage of my truck after getting an oil change. Apparently the technician did not bother to clean up after doing the job. My service advisor and the service manager were very apologetic and professional and took care of the mess upon notification. I appreciate that. Nevertheless, this rating is the best I can offer even with the prompt attention paid to the situation. It’s appalling to me that premium dealer service at their premium prices can be so technically deficient. When things like this happen, it calls the competence and professionalism of the whole operation into question. I wonder what other details they overlooked in servicing my truck. I probably will be back to have my truck serviced again. But if it happens again, I’ll never go back. More
