On November 7, my wife and I were travelling from our - lacticrat
On November 7, my wife and I were travelling from our home in Grande Cache to Edmonton when we pulled into the Medicine Lodge East rest area. Our 2013 Dodge Ram picked that moment to quit – just shut off for no apparent reason. When I tried to restart it, the starter would not disengage and then it wouldn't turn over at all. Remember, it was minus 22 degrees and windy!
We called a towing company and were told that it would be about three hours before they could tow it to Edson Chrysler. A friend in Grande Cache suggested I call the dealership to help us as we were starting to really feel the cold. We spoke with Nick at the service counter who immediately jumped in a truck and came to our rescue. He drove us to the dealership, and arranged to get us a motel for the night; he even drove us to the motel.
The following morning, we took a taxi back to the dealership where it was revealed that it was a catastrophic engine failure – a total write off. We didn't know what to do.
They then offered to sell us a truck someone else had traded in. They gave us a list of everything it needed – not really very much - and it was all stuff I could do myself. Very, very reasonable price, well within our budget, so we didn't need to take out a loan. And they are letting us keep our dead Dodge there until we can arrange to get it home.
I just can't say enough about how kind and courteous and genuinely helpful Nick, Wendy, Candy and others were. They turned what started as a disaster into a positive experience. Constantly asked about if we needed a ride, more coffee, etc.
Service over and above any I've had with any dealership, ever. I would give them six stars if I could!
