Learn from my bad experience! I absolutely do not recommend buying a used car from Universal Ford Lincoln Calgary or booking at their service department. For the past three and I absolutely do not recommend buying a used car from Universal Ford Lincoln Calgary or booking at their service department. For the past three and a half months the ongoing car issues I have experienced are trouble accelerating, jerking/shaking while driving/changing speeds and oil leaks. I have been communicating with Loren (service advisor), Amit (service manager), Jordan (guest experience manager) and Shawn (dealership manager) with no resolution. I bought my Ford Escape back in November 2023 and had transmission issues 4 days after purchasing the car (see picture from November 26, 2023 “transmission fault”). I immediately I notified my sales rep and they couldn’t get my car in service for a week and than took weeks to figure out the actual issue. Luckily I had paid $600 for the three month warranty because they had to replace the whole transmission, valve body and torque converter. The second time was due to trouble accelerating, jerking/shaking while driving/changing speeds but they were “unable to replicate them” until I proved them on a test drive…They explained one of the parts that they replace were faulty. They replaced it and and “fixed” an oil leak. This helped for a short while until I took the car to a reputable mechanic and he told me he found two separate oil leaks and that my filters needed to be changed immediately. I was shocked and irritated because Ford service had just had my car. The third time in service they could not find the leaks but said I had one seep. They fixed the seep and returned the car to me, that same day I got it the check oil light was flashing…. They did not know why. The fourth and final time my car was in service when they gave me the car back and experienced shaking and accelerating issue severe than ever before. Communicating with this dealership is exhausting and they will give you the run around regardless if it is service or management. THIS SERVICE TEAM EITHER HAS NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING OR ARE SIMPLY WASTING TIME! My car was in service for 5 weeks over the three and half month period. It’s taken many emails, calls, texts and in-person meetings to get to this point. Through multiple conversations with Universal management and the sales team it is evident this dealership doesn’t stand by their used cars at all yet encouraged me to buy a more expensive used car from them? They are absolutely delusional. All the options given to me would benefit the dealership and have no consideration for my time, money and/or energy. BUY SOMEWHERE ELSE! More
I bought a Ford F150 back in January of 2023. For $ 14,000. Then I found out that it was involved in an accident. In April I went back to the dealer and by June the dealer took the truck back but For $ 14,000. Then I found out that it was involved in an accident. In April I went back to the dealer and by June the dealer took the truck back but only gave me $8,000. So they ripped me off on that. Then they got me another truck a 2017 Ford F150. After a week of driving it. The problems surfaced transmission issues. Was told that it was my problem on. So within 6 months I got 2 lemons. So I’ll never deal with UNIVERSAL FORD ever again. So I lost out on a lot of money. I got rid of the truck and got a real truck. More
Took my van in and they told me that the problem was i didnt have ford spark plugs. new that sounded fishy and i have in text that its 10000 percent the problem. changed the spark plugs and same thing didnt have ford spark plugs. new that sounded fishy and i have in text that its 10000 percent the problem. changed the spark plugs and same thing now they don't respond to me and i will take them to small claims as they charged me for nothing and made me buy motorcraft plugs. not the money its the principal. COMPLETLY SCAMED ME . DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THEM . and now they dont answer me . so much for the service managers control More
Terrible Service Department. This is second time the Universal Ford Lincoln Service department has failed. Last time I was there the person who was supposed to work on truck did This is second time the Universal Ford Lincoln Service department has failed. Last time I was there the person who was supposed to work on truck did not show up for work. It took the service department 3 hours to tell me that while I was sitting their lobby. There were 3 items that needed to be addressed. They could have at least dealt with items 1 and 2. The service advisor mad it sound like it was my fault. 1. Oil Change 2 Tune Up 3 Rear Axle Differential Clutch Replacement. Today, I tried to book a appointment to have the above items fixed. The Service Advisor was not helpful at all. If you are looking for poor service Universal Ford is the place to go to. More

I purchased a used F-150 and have to say the whole experience was first class in every way. I dealt with Billy Tran, who is actually the finance manager, as no sales people were available when I visit experience was first class in every way. I'm glad I dealt with Billy as he is a truck guy and was able to answer any questions I had. Once we agreed the purchase the rest of the process was smooth. He handed me off to Jenni who took care of the admin side of the transaction and she was also excellent to deal with. I did have an issue with the truck a week after picking it up, the AC was not working correctly. I was told the service center was booked solid for the next 2 weeks but Billy went above and beyond with his excellent customer service and arranged a courtesy car whilst mine was in the shop, and also booking me in the next day. Other than being great at his job, I found Billy to be very straight forward and honest to deal with and also an all round nice guy. From my experience I highly recommend Billy and his team. More
I have been buying vehicles from Universal ford for years, probably purchased in the range of 15-20 vehicles. Since the sale of Universal to new ownership the Service department and the customer servic years, probably purchased in the range of 15-20 vehicles. Since the sale of Universal to new ownership the Service department and the customer services in general has declined rapidly. My last two visits were either poor service or poor customer service. Its the little things, wash a dirty truck, treat costumers with respect and kindness, even if your having a bad day. I have bought all my vehicles through Patrick and now being bombarded from numerous sales people. Customer service seems to be a thing of the past. Looking for a new truck and for the first time in 20 years I will shop around and look elsewhere More
I’d like to say how disappointed I am in Universal Ford I took my F150 in for a works package and to check the sync version. The sync has been giving trouble and previously I have been charged $185 to upg took my F150 in for a works package and to check the sync version. The sync has been giving trouble and previously I have been charged $185 to upgrade the software which is reasonable now that’s out of warranty. I understood this is something I could check at no charge when I picked it up they were billing me another $185 to check the sync which surprised me they said they had to hook it up to something electrical in order to check it and the minimum charge for that was 185 I thought OK they’ve been a good dealership no problem especially when they dropped it to 159 but the real problem occurred when I got home and noticed that the vehicle was not producing any heat. It’s clearly some sort of electronic issue because when I start it with remote start, the heater works but when I put the key in it stops, they are unable to help me or give me any ideas other than maybe bring it in tomorrow and leave it all day it’s ridiculous in a Calgary winter that they think it’s reasonable to leave the truck with no heat give me no suggestions as to how to get it fixed and tell me maybe bring it in tomorrow and leave it all day. Please consider this when using Universal Ford for your service needs. More
