Damaged my car and refuse to refund money I took my car in for an oil change. Somebody did not screw the oil cap on right and unknown to me I drove for 100's of km like this. I lost power and I took my car in for an oil change. Somebody did not screw the oil cap on right and unknown to me I drove for 100's of km like this. I lost power and opened the hood to see oil was shooting to the back of the engine from the oil cap, which was cross threaded on. I put the cap on right and took it to Schwab because of an engine light. They said the light was likely because the cap wasn't on right. They reset it.It came back on once I made it to Edmonton. I went back twice more and they reset it again and then booked me in to have a look. Shaun said he would charge me for half the cost for the 100 point inspection to determine what happened. Turned out the pvc valve blew and cracked the crankshaft cover as well. This was directly caused by the oil cap being cross threaded and the pressure. They charged me to fix this, and on top of that also charged me for a break inspection and a diagnosis fee. I didn't agree with it,and they told me to try GM and see if they will cover it under the warranty that expired a few months before. So I paid the bill hoping I would get the money back. But that never happened, and so I told Schwab I wanted my money back for the repair. They offered half the price,and I said no, especially considering that I had driven a total of four hours out of my way to have my vehicle fixed by them. They said no and I said that I will take them to court then. Upon talking with a lawyer, he told me to go back and tell them I would accept 1/2 the bill back in an effort to mitigate my losses. I went back and they refused....SO much for treating a loyal customer good. now I must file legal action to get not only that money back, but the time lost, and other costs...I will never go back to GM again! Go in for a tire wobble and they try strapping down my buggy whip flag for work and taking it for a test drive…… wrecked the hook and scratched my sports bar… best part it was the shop foreman. Details about myself. Name: Dakota Graham Age: 25 From: Leduc Vehicle: 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 double cab all terrain edition(Extras- light up Buggy whip, sport bar, LED light bars, Beacon) KMs on vehicle: 65000 owned since new Occupation: Coating Inspector (Oilfield Fort MacMurray worker) Went in for: Recall, oil change, and general maintenance/Multi point vehicle inspection, Brake fluid flush (as it was recommended service), check engine light had come on and turned off two days before appointment, and a wobble in the back rear passenger side. Back story: I have owned my vehicle since new and it has been my work ruck for working in the oilfield. It has seen all types of terrain and landscapes, if there has been a pipeline there it has most likely seen it. So my vehicle has been outfitted with light bars on a sport bar on the back to allow for me to see down log roads, and has a light up buggy whip for haul roads when working around big “Tonka trucks”. I have taken my vehicle in to this dealer in Leduc and one on the south side of Edmonton. The Leduc dealership is convenient for me as I reside there. So I have taken my vehicle to there for most of its services. I eventually had gotten a wobble in my rear passenger side tire. I originally thought that it was mud in the rim, nope. Then I thought maybe the tires need to be rotated, nope. Maybe they are out of balance, nope. so I took it in this time to see what they could figure out as to what the possible issue may be for it and do all my other maintenance. So unfortunately I have a tight schedule to book my vehicle in on the Friday before the long weekend as that was the only day that I was able to book it in. Now I don’t usually write bad reviews of places and especially when I have a friend that works there as a salesman, but I really feel that people need to know and stay away from this place at all costs for service. Appointment booked for August 02 first thing in the morning 08:30 am Booking the appointment: first time I phoned in maybe midday, and I got TARA SHERMAN. I had tried to ask some questions about my vehicle and see what the regular maintenance for my mileage would be and to ask about the wobble on my vehicle and see what scheduling would be like. But unfortunately, and I quote “we are understaffed, and it is super busy call back tomorrow and book an appointment”. I was a bit taken back by this as I am trying to give them money, but I phone back the next day and got a super nice gentleman that was able to answer all my questions and assure me that I will be able to take the shop foreman for a ride to ensure that he can feel the wobble that I am having. I felt that maybe everything will be fine with it and they may be able to diagnose my issue. Day of the appointment drop off: when dropping my vehicle off I dealt with TREVOR WOLFE he was super nice and went over everything that I had discussed about my appointment and ensured that all my notes were written down for the wobble and check engine light. And ensured that I took the shop foreman for a test drive to show him the wobble. I was also informed that I would get a quote on red break covers for my truck. Test Drive: while taking it for the quickest test drive of my life, I informed the shop foreman that the issue has been happening for a long time and that I have had it in for service previously (having the wheels rotated and the wheels balanced and test drove and told it was fine, and having the wheels washed out after a 150$ car wash and the use of a ramp still having the wobble so I know its not the mud from work.) and the shop foreman said that he feels the wobble and will try and figure it out. He didn’t say much through the test drive but that’s okay. Test drive area was from the dealer, past McDonalds, on the highway, and the first off ramp and back. Maybe 10-15 min at the most. THE INTRESTING PART!!! What the dash cam caught first off is the oil lube guys: they enjoyed them selves playing with my high beams, blinking them what seams an absurd amount of times to get the other guy to open up the bay door. Once inside they continue to mess around with my vehicle by turning my Green LED Buggy whip on and off showing one another, then trying out my light bars and beacons on and off. And commenting about my headache rack as to “I wouldn’t mess with this Guy”. Must have not known that I have a dash camera in my vehicle. Playing with things that don’t require to be played with shouldn’t be. Especially if they have no idea what they are doing. I am just glad they did not notice the hidden two way radio built in to the center console or the custom sub and amplifier and power converter……… To top it all off when parking the gentleman had to back the vehicle up 3 times as he couldn’t figure out how to park it not close to another vehicle….. at this point of the video I am pretty upset that I have a bunch of kids messing around with my light bars and buggy whip… and not instilling confidence in me for their driving skills. They had parked it and then taken it for a After lube test drive: longer than the test drive I had with the shop foreman. test drive. I would say that they drove my vehicle with respect. A little heavy on the pedal but that doesn’t overly bother me as I am guilty sometimes. Into the back bay: at this point it is hard to tell all what is going on as the hood is up and I cant see out the front camera and the rear camera just shows people standing around a lot. But it did catch when they where initially lifting the vehicle that the lift had slipped a bit and dropped the vehicle down. (the height was not much, I doubt it was enough to lift the vehicle but it still made quite a clunk and enough movement for my motion sensor on the camera to pick it up. Which prompted the mechanic to say “C*nt *ucker”. Now to be honest like I said I am not to sure what all goes on in this part as I cant really see. But I do see my vehicle lifted maybe up and down 4-5 times. And it was in there for quite some time. But I did note other vehicles that were in the shop also had a buggy whip. So its not something that they have never seen before. Especially with being in Alberta and all the oilfield workers. I also seen them detailing someone else’s work truck in the back for a long time. Done in the Lift now wash and wheel alignment check: they decided to wash the wheels to see if they could get some dirt off of them, and I can only describe the effort that was put into washing the wheels as Weak Sauce. As I can guarantee you that all they did was make them wet. As the day before I came back from fort mac I gave the vehicle a 30$ wond wash crawling the under side of the vehicle to gain access to the inside of the rims the best I could. (Note some mud in the rims, but not bad at all.) Then they take it for an alignment check. I suppose that all went to plan. Again, it was hard to gather any info during this as they are working on the side of the vehicle so I couldn’t really see. Next Road test: this road test is longer than the one I had with the shop foreman. Now this one I almost fell off my rocker. Did I mention that my camera captures speed on it as well. On the highway (Posted limit is 110) I have my camera recoding him at 133 KM an hour at one point…… now that is pretty ridiculous if you ask me…. But I will let you decide. I would say this test drive is a bit more aggressive than the lube shop test drive with the heavy pedal. Did I mention that it is the shop foreman either with another worker or driving. The camera didn’t capture who was driving. Parked at the dealer: this is the part that really caught my eye for me to watch the full videos of my vehicle at the dealer. To my surprise the shop foreman is at the back of my truck looking at my sports bar, and then decides to vigorously wiggle my buggy whip on the back of my vehicle… and I know that it is an industrial looking truck. But the bracket that is holding the buggy whip is not meant to be wiggled side to side that aggressively. And I mean he was not gentle with the process at all. What does my buggy whip have to do with any of this? Why is the shop foreman messing with this? Why is he opening my tail gate? At this point I have so many questions. Does he really think the buggy whip is shaking the truck ? is he just wondering how it is installed? Doe she really want to bend and break my hook that has the whip secured down? Ops turns out he has bent it amdn made the custom hook loose now. Thanks for that….. so after playing with my buggy whip flag like a little boy who discovered his junk for the first time. He walks back in. Now this is the best part. Truck pulled back inside: the next thing I see blows my mind, I see the shop Forman bungie cording my buggy whip of my truck over to the side, bending it on the stationary hook that should not be bent that much. My mind is blow seeing this man taking bungie cords together and pulling the whip to the side of my vehicle. Not only that. He electrical tapes the bungies. My mind is blow, I am mad. I cant believe that they would even be messing around with my buggy whip on my truck. what is the reason behind this, it is not meant to be bent like that and especially not to be bent like that while being hooked down. I cant believe that this man is the shop foreman and thinks that the whole truck shake is due to a whip in the back….. Test drive number 3 with the whip strapped down: no w this vehicle has my company logo on it and I have never seen a more xxxxxxx get up to pull a buggy whip sideways in my life. Not only does it look horrible but anyone with a brain would realize that this is not necessary at all. And to take it on the highway that way, pulled sideways on the hook that they have now made loose and bent…… I can’t believe this. Then he decides to pull over under an overpass and undue his mess that he did. Did he think that would fix a wobble in a tire? I have so many questions. Is this man senile? Not only has he bent the hook of my buggy whip, he has also scratched my sports bar with his ghetto get up and wiggling! Pick Up: unfortunately TREVOR WOLFE was not there due to a medical emergency so I had to deal with Tara Sherman. At this point I had not seen the video of my vehicle and what it has been through. But I could not believe how rude she was to me. I asked her what the engine light was about. Quote” I was not back there doing the work so I don’t know” I said did they not check the history on the log for the codes (they have done it before and I know they can do it.) “Well I guess they didn’t do that” in a snarky way she replied. Thrown back by this attitude I continue to ask her about my wobble. She replied well you have a failed camber/alignment in the front of your vehicle. I said oh really why would they have not phoned and said something to have it fixed? In her words not mine “if I wanted to have the work done to my vehicle then maybe I shouldn’t have booked it in on a long weekend on a Friday!” WOW just wow at this point I can’t believe what is happening and she is asking me when I want to book my next appointment to get it fixed. No way in xxxx am I taking my vehicle back to this place with that attitude. She told me that she has no idea what they tried to fix the wobble, and that I should bring it back for them to continue to investigate as then I will have the same technician that has been working on it….. I took my keys and left. And phoned in to speak to the service manager who ended up not being there. Probably a good thing as I have way more to complain about now after I watched the video of the circus that they are running there. So I spent 283$ to get no answers and not even know what work really happened to my truck. Other than it failed camber and toe in the front end and the decided that it was a better idea and use of their time to mess up my buggy whip and tie it down rather than fixing a real issue. Really good call by the shop foreman and use of his time. I guess I got an oil change, a brake flush, a multi-point inspection of who knows what, they didn’t even rotate my tires, nothing doen about the wobble other than messing my hook for my buggy whip, who knows what the check engine light was, a safety recall and I am not to sure if that was doen right after what I seen from the video, and they wasted a quarter tank of my gas. Summary I wouldn’t even take bike there to get the chain fixed. -bent hook/broken and glue I had to remove from tape on my buggy whip -wasted my gas -treated like dirt by Teribble Tarra - spent 283$ at a non-reputable company to gain no info about anything at all - had my truck joy ridded at 133KM on the highway and lights and accessories played with -turns out my truck has a failed toe and camber. But who knows if that’s really true…. -has some weak sauce rim cleaning ? -truck slipped on lift ? damage anything? Who knows…. - never got a quote about the red break covers like I had asked for -found out that there is poor service at this location -turns out that the dash cam wasn’t a waste of money and I will be buying one for my car next. - that the shop foreman thinks a buggy whip that is on thousands upon thousands of vehicles in the oilfield would be causing a wobble on a vehicle that had it on it before the wobble even started ? What prompted this was how poorly I was treated by Terrible Tarra Sherman. If she would have been nice and said hey Dakota I know that you had your truck here, I don’t have the answers but I will be more than happy to find out and give you a call on Tuesday after the long weekend. I would have said okay no problem and not looked at the camera and seen the clowns messing with my vehicle. But no she decided to treat me like dirt and make me feel as if I was the problem and I was inconveniencing her. So I hope that you take your business somewhere else. And if anyone from GM wishes to contact me regarding this or the manager wants to phone me back. Please do, I honestly don’t know If I will ever want to take my truck back there, but I would like to have my hook for my flag not wobbly. And some explanation for all this rigmarole that had happened. And I would be more than happy to show him the video of what had gone on in the shop. Also when I had came in to drop my truck off Terrible Tara was dealing with a gentalman already so I didn’t have to deal with her, but she was treating that man with so much disrespect I could not believe it. I know that I came into the convo mid-way through but she is getting excited at this man and telling him that they are understaffed and that she is really stressed and has other customers to help and that he needs to sit and wait for his shuttle. I believe the customers name was sunny ? or that’s what she called him. Anyways. I would give that man a phone call and apologize as she treated him worse than me, I thought.
