"Horrible Service "

Brought my truck in for an oil change scheduled a week in advance for 1:00 pm. I arrived at 12:50pm to give them keys, my vehicle hasn’t been brought in and it’s now 1:43pm. What good is an appointment if you don’t even come close to that assigned time?

"not happy about the job being incomplete. "

On June 25th I took my P U in for an odor of fuel by the driver's door. I was told the fuels needed to be replaced at a cost of 1000 dollars. and would be done that day. Later that day I received a call from Mike saying that the sending unit would also have to be replaced. At 445 pm the next day the truck was ready at a cost of 1979.65 dollars. At that time I was told to get the truck needed to be under coated A.S.A.P . Why when I spend that amount of money and then be told to do under coating ? I would think that the fuel lines should have been coated to complete the job properly. Raymond Key

"Awesome Experience"

I have recently relocated to Orillia and had concerns with a "clunking" noise I heard in the front end of my 2015 Trax after having my brakes replaced at another dealership. Mike got me in for an appointment the next morning and discovered the cause was an improper installation job at the previous dealership. He kept me informed, explained everything in detail and was so helpful! I'll certainly be bringing my car back for all of my maintenance needs!

"Last minute"

I had a great experience this morning bring in my Chevy silverado for a last minute oil change. Mike saw I had I vehicle inspection due and scheduled for Saturday and made it happen all in one for me this morning. This means a lot to me as work is non stop and to get all of this done on a rain day was important and convenient for me. He took great care and was very curtious even coming to check on me. Thank you for your quality of service. I didn't see Rob today but he's always great too

"They make a mistake, YOU pay..."

Brought my truck in with 97000km on it with transmission problems. They "took care" of me and replaced the torque converter under warranty. 13000km later my whole transmission craps out on me leaving me stranded up north. I had to pay for a tow down to orillia to drop it off, jim Wilson's called me back the next afternoon telling me I have to give them concent to go any further because I had to pay for it... I talked to 3 transmission specialists about my problem and they all said the same thing - "odds are when the torque converter went there was likely an issue that caused it, (of which jim Wilson's mechanics never looked into), and what had happened now, is because they didn't flush the system pieces of the torque converter likely got into the system causing it to fail completely just a few months later." Now I strongly feel they figured my warranty was almost up, so they took the cheapest route to get me back up and running, and figured this would happen and this is where they would get their money. I also contacted GM Canada and they said they had to go based off what the dealership was saying.... GREAT customer service! I am not a happy customer, and I would not reccomend to anyone to deal with these guys. Their mechanics are inexperienced and don't know what they are looking at!! I will pay for what's got to be done, but it will not be them getting my hard earned money.

Hi Mike, this situation with your truck is really unfortunate. We understand that this time of year can be very busy and it can become overwhelming when unforeseen expenses such as truck repairs come up. It appears there may have been some miscommunication during your previous visit as it is mandatory for us to flush the transmission coolant as per General Motors policy to do so. We do apologize for any lack of communication that has added to your worries and we promise to provide better communication going forward. Our mechanics are all General Motors Certified Technicians and I can absolutely assure you that we would not have chosen the cheaper route because after all, it was being covered by GM under your warranty. We would have loved to be able to tell you that the work was covered by warranty again this time and it wouldn’t cost a thing however your vehicle is out of warranty, unfortunately. We're very sorry for the inconvenience once again. We do appreciate your business and would be happy to help you out in the future. From our family to yours, have a wonderful holiday season!

"Great Service!"

On a recent Friday, I travelled from Timmins in my 2012 Chevy Cruze, to Gravenhurst to for a family visit. It was a very hot day, and while driving in heavy stop and go construction traffic around North Bay, my car developed a small coolant leak. On reaching my destination Friday night, I discovered a leak from the thermostat housing area. As you can imagine, having a disabled vehicle far from home was very concerning to me. Thankfully your service department is open on Saturdays so I called early and spoke with Sara, she said she would let them know as soon as the service manager came in. She called me back very quickly before service was even supposed to open and said to bring my vehicle in and they would do everything they could to look at it that day! They were able to and luckily for me because they ordered a required part on the Saturday, that would come in on Tuesday (the day I planned on travelling home). Sure enough the part came in Tuesday and Steve the service consultant informed me it would be fixed by the time I came back through Orillia at noon, and under my powertrain warranty, which it was. The repair was excellent with an upgraded part and the area was clean as a whistle. I cannot speak more highly of the service I received from all the staff at Jim Wilson Chev Buick GMC especially considering I had never dealt with them before or had not bought my vehicle there (I deal with Timmins Garage where I also get very good service, but it is very reassuring to have a great GM team backing my vehicle no matter where I am). Again to Steve, Sara, Joe and the technician who worked on my car and all the staff at Jim Wilson: thank you very very much!

"Lived up to their bad reputation"

After doing much research I decided to buy my new Traverse at New Roads in Newmarket, I had gone to Jim Wilson for a test drive first and told the salesperson what I wanted and he tried to push me into another vehicle. I got a great deal at New Roads. Yesterday after going to New Roads for a regular service I had my tires rotated. I knew that I had to have them retorqued but I was close to home so I called New Roads and they suggested stopping by a dealership close to where I was. They told me that they often do this for customers, they are all about service. I stopped by Jim Wilson about 15 min. prior to close. I drove into the service area and there was no one to be found. A girl from parts had looked around the corner but never came out so I went in. I asked about someone retorquing my tires and was told I would be charged for it. So I told her this is one of the reasons why I did not buy my vehicle here and I left. Buying a vehicle is more than the purchase, the service is also a big part and the word was they did not have a great reputation. Well they lived up to that. My next new car for my daughter will be from New Roads. I would rather tale a drive down the road and be treated with respect then spend my money at Jim Wilson.
