The price was in the low end of the average selling price for that year/make/model (compared to other dealerships & used car shops) - i.e., it was a good deal. When we arrived to look at the used 2013 Dodge Journey, we were pleased to see that it was as described in the ad (which isn't always the case - sometimes the 'bait and switch' is used by unscrupulous sellers). I know, I've been there... We've looked around a lot and saw many vehicles. This isn't our first time buying a used vehicle either... Since we knew what we wanted and the price we wanted to pay, the rest was pretty easy. The staff was courteous and helpful. They walked us through the process without any high pressure sales tactics (to 'up sell' us). They made us aware of the 'extras' we could purchase, but weren't pushy. Overall, we were quite satisfied with the vehicle we bought and the sales experience. We'll definitely go back when we're looking for our next vehicle to see if they have it. I rated Clarington Honda a 4/5 on price because it was a good deal, but not the absolute cheapest available (private sales are usually cheaper - but then you generally take a greater chance on what you're getting). It was a really good deal for prices compared to other dealerships and used car lots. Check them out if you're looking to buy. I consider them reasonable, honest people. They type of people you'd like to have as friends. More

He treats people with absolutely no respect and does not appreciate your business. We could not figure out how he was able to get away with being so awful and ignorant towards his customers until we found out that his daddy owns the dealership... explains a lot!! If you are looking to be treated with respect as a valued customer, then find another dealership! More

Today was the second time that we took our vehicle in for a simple service and the service department pulled a bait and switch on us. Got us in for the winter deal and then did a more extensive service and then wanted us to pay for it. 129 turned into over 500 dollars! This is the second time they did this to us. We didn't want to pay for it but my husband was at work and couldn't keep arguing so they split the difference from the service we signed up for and the one that they decided to do without our permission. I will never use this dealership again to service my honda. A bunch of crooks. No complaints about purchasing my vehicle. They were great. But they need to fix their service department as it has soured me for buying from this dealership in the future. More

Carrie Bene is no doubt the best car sales person we've ever experienced. She clearly believes that developing a long-term relationship is an integral part of the sales process. We've also had our previous 2004 Civic serviced at Clarington Honda since it first opened and have appreciated the convenience of having a good dealership nearby. We have always been satisfied with the service. We have a Honda snowblower and a generator and have also found the people in the parts department very helpful and easy to deal with. More
Warranty Service I put my 2015 Honda Civic SI in to Clarington Honda for an oil leak which was covered under factory warranty. Originally Clarington Honda came highly I put my 2015 Honda Civic SI in to Clarington Honda for an oil leak which was covered under factory warranty. Originally Clarington Honda came highly recommended by neighbors and Honda employees that I know. The work they preformed on my car I am happy with as they got it repaired in an afternoon. However upon picking my car up there was damage to the left front fascia lip. I didn’t notice it till the next day as it was pouring rain when I picked the car up. Upon discovery of the damage immediately called Steve Barton the Service Manager. I sent the pictures of the damage to him via e-mail and brought the car back in for him to see the damage. I know It was not there when I brought the car in and I know I did not cause the damage. Steve said that his employees did not cause the damage and was unwilling to cover the cost of the repair. ( Service Tech bumped the leg of hoist on the fascia lip, damaging the paint and leaving red paint from the hoist on my blue car) Talked with the Mike Clayton and I had a sense of concern from him, so I am going to give him credit for that. However he ended up siding with Steve and unwilling to take responsibility for the incident. Here is what you really need to know. Called Honda corporate and was hoping they would be helpful, however they were not. They haven’t got any power to override a dealers complaints from customers as each Honda dealer is independently owed and operated. So to make a long story short this is what is suggested when you bring in your car for service at a Honda Dealership, always inspect the car for damage with the service advisor. A walk around before and after service. Have the advisor note any dings/dent’s or scratches before signing the work order. Just as a little note my Civic SI is a show car so there was not any damage on the car before service. I had to pay to have the paint repaired. It cost me a mere $100, but now Honda has lost a future customer and Clarington Honda has lost my trust and my business. More
Unacceptable Service Took car in for warranty issue on the front rotors warping at 20,000 km. They replaced the rotors under warranty but did not put my caliper back in pr Took car in for warranty issue on the front rotors warping at 20,000 km. They replaced the rotors under warranty but did not put my caliper back in properly. They forgot to put in a bolt that holds the caliper in place!! Caliper fell out and was rubbing on the inside of my rim. Took car back, took pics of damage, they call me and tell me a story of how a bolt was loose and they tightened it, I mention are you sure it was a loose bolt because the pictures I have show no bolt. They backtrack and say oh I am just going on what my tech told me. No apologies or anything. They were not willing to replace my damaged rim (I was not too concerned because was not noticeable from outside) but they needed to balance my tire because it knocked the weights off. They apparently balanced tire but after taking vehicle I noticed it vibrated a lot at 80-120 km/hr. Took it back and I get a lengthy story about how the tech has 20 years as a mechanic and that's a normal vibration. Took to another dealer and they balanced the tired saying they were off. Fixed problem and car ran fine. Tried to get reimbursed for the added cost and service manager just says I'm not paying for that.... Side note, the shotty work the mechanic did on the brakes could have cost my wife and kids their life if I didn't notice it right away and took it back. If the caliper piston opened up it would have locked the wheel and sent the car into an uncontrollable skid. Imagine if you were on the highway!!! And they still didn't care. Not even an apology. More
