Unprofessional/Dishonest
Purchased vehicle on line, offer placed and accepted via email (legally binding in Alberta). Informed dealership I would be at dealership around 2, it’s a 3 to 4 hour drive. About 45 mins from dealership receive phone call advising me the car had been sold. Continue to the dealership ask for clarification and I’m essentially told I’m SOL because a deposit, that was never discussed or asked for had not been placed. My research does not indicate the requirement for a deposit, I’m looking into this further, regardless of the legality of their actions I cannot believe a high end dealership such as Lexus, would act like this. In defence of my salesman Jake, who was not at work on the day of pickup, he had referred me to a member of his sales team, who I can only assume essentially stole his sale.(requires management approval)
Worst car dealership experience I have ever experienced in my life. Was meant to be my teenage sons first car he was with me at the dealership, all they could say to him was sorry.
I’ve already placed a complaint with service Alberta, and tried unsuccessfully to place one online with Lexus Canada, will be contacting them directly tomorrow.
