My wife and I recently had the pleasure of purchasing a new Canyon AT4 truck at McNaught. Not only were all staff that had contact with us (Sam, John, Mike and Kinga) courteous and respectful in our dea new Canyon AT4 truck at McNaught. Not only were all staff that had contact with us (Sam, John, Mike and Kinga) courteous and respectful in our dealings; they kept the usual sales pitches and hard-sell tactics to a minimum. We left the dealership feeling glad we made the trip (McNaught being opposite end of the city for us) and feel the deal we struck was fair to all parties involved. The service department was very friendly and helpful. They ensured that I was made aware of everything that needed to be done. I would rate 0 stars if I could. I was talking to an agent, Mike Balcaen, about a truck. He said it was not ready yet but would be ready later Friday. Later Friday he says that it won’t be ready until M agent, Mike Balcaen, about a truck. He said it was not ready yet but would be ready later Friday. Later Friday he says that it won’t be ready until Monday but that I would get to be the first person to see it when it’s ready. We also discussed financing a couple times that day and it was confirmed that it I could be financed. Over the weekend I received an email from the manager, Claude Manaigre. During that brief email exchange it was mentioned that I would be the first to get to see the truck when it was ready. I contact Mike Monday morning and he says the truck still isn’t ready but hopefully by the end of the day and that will let me know right after lunch. Lunch comes and goes, nothing from Mike. Closer to 5pm Mike texts me some pics of the truck saying that it is now ready for me. I reply back right away then he replies “sorry, sold.” I say that I was told I’d get first dibs on the truck and he says someone was there at 3pm. If someone came there and wanted to see the truck they could have easily said that I already had an appointment for it. They could also have easily told me to come sooner. They definitely should not have told me I had first dibs when they weren’t going to honor that. They don’t care about their clients. They will lie to all clients to get a quick sale. When I said that I was told I had first dibs he replied that he has 5 other people mad at him. That simply proves that they will LIE to EVERY potential customer. Also, why tell me it’s ready for me if it had been sold nearly 2 hours earlier. I had already told my boss that I needed to take time off work Monday afternoon to go get this truck, time now wasted. I tried to contact the manager but he would not take my call. I left a message and he did not call me back. Do NOT go to this dealership. They are liars and only care about a quick sale. They have no honesty or integrity. I am scared to think of the other things they will lie about to make a sale. I fear for the safety of anyone driving a vehicle purchased from them as who knows what lies they said to make those sales. More
