Intermittent parking brake failure Since we purchased our used 2013 Subaru Outback over a year ago, there has been an intermittent parking brake failure. I suppose it was mostly a nuis Since we purchased our used 2013 Subaru Outback over a year ago, there has been an intermittent parking brake failure. I suppose it was mostly a nuisance problem but also some safety considerations. Two other Subaru service facilities failed to address this issue, but Budd's persevered and diagnosed and repaired this problem. The service codes were confusing, but Robbie Regala, the Fixed Operations Manager, found an unusual solution. The battery voltage was low enough to affect the code retention for service folks to see. Once the parking brake module failure was identified, repair was straight forward. This solved 12 months of setting the parking brake for fear it would fail, leaving the car inoperable.
