As a loyal customer of Star Motors of Ottawa for 20 years, I expect the highest quality of service and care for my vehicle. Unfortunately, my recent experience has left me feeling disappointed and let years, I expect the highest quality of service and care for my vehicle. Unfortunately, my recent experience has left me feeling disappointed and let down. Upon receiving my vehicle, I noticed that the works were incomplete. Despite their estimate indicating that all repairs would be completed, some of the issues I reported were not resolved. This has caused significant inconvenience and frustration on my part. I went to another Mercedes-Benz dealer for a second opinion for their works along with their advices on replacing the front struts of $5,000 and to find out that it was unneeded. The Service Manager, Gordie Tam, offered no apology and no compensation for works done to my car. This is not a trait of Mercedes-Benz! I no longer bring my car to this dealer. I called 4 times to finally book a service appointment Aug23. On August 16 They cancelled the scheduled appointment for an A service on my Mercedes Sprinter Motorhome. They left me high and dry and scrambling to find another service Centre. Last fall they booked me for a 9 am appointment, I explained That I live an hour out of town and would wait. At 3 pm they finally started the job, The job was finished after 5 pm. They informed me I needed extensive frontend work. On my trip to Florida I went to a truck center who put it on their alignment rack and advised everything was well within tolerance. A waste of $100 and 4 hours of my time. I will not be returning to Star Motors, the worst service I have ever experienced. More
I recently purchased a 2023 CLS AMG 53 from star motors. I have purchased vehicles in the past from Star Motors. Sal, Kassim,, Sam are exceptional/professional people along with the technical service teams. I have purchased vehicles in the past from Star Motors. I have purchased and leased 4 Mercedes cars at Star Motors, and have purchased 2 privately since 2012. Incredibly, they congratulated me on the private purchase of one of my vehicles. All have been serviced at the main dealership, and I have had all of my insurance claims done at their body shop. I have *never* had an issue with their service - it is wonderful! If there was ever a hiccup, it has always been fixed quickly and happily and *always* to my benefit. I have never had an issue with the body shop, you *can't* tell where repairs or paint colour matching are done. I am incredibly picky on how well a body repair is done (and I'm not shy in pointing out flaws to be fixed), and have *never* been disappointed. I have been incredibly enraged at after market "top end" body shops - never again. They're incredibly skilled. My simple opinion is this - if you want excellent service or repairs, go to Star motors. I will never service my car at this location as staff are unfriendly, professional lyres in making up excuses. This dealer is not able to keep his good staff, I know couple of good ones were fired. After an oil change cost me $$$, car still giving same sign that service need to be done. I called for help, no one returned my call, It has been one month now till I called again. Assured me that the oil was really changed. but after all that, I am not confident that the oil was changed and the recall was done. More
Star Motors need a major revamp of the service department. 2 oil changes and they used 2 different oils. The excuse was to blame the parts department for they don’t check what is given to them b department. 2 oil changes and they used 2 different oils. I bought the additional insurance package that covers exactly that. Had to have a big argument with a service manager and get the sales manager involved before it was replaced. Don’t bother calling Mercedes Setvice in Toronto. They tell you to deal with the dealership. They have no control over them. It’s Oct 21 and I called for a service. Non available until Dec 28. I’m trying the Ottawa Mercedes’ Benz downtown. They gave me an appointment for Nov 28 and they could not be worse than Star Motors. Then both services took 2 hours more than they said it would take. I do not remember the names of the persons I dealt with vs the ones provided by this website but I rated them 1 star since that’s the lowest rating. More
I brought my vehicle in to the service department for an estimate. I paid for the diagnostics and was told the Service Advisor would call me later with the details. Despite numerous calls to follow up, it took almost a month for me to get a straight answer as to what parts needed replacing and the cost. Several times I spoke to someone who assured me I would get a call back by the next day at the latest. Each time I called I had to explain everything from the beginning, so they don't even bother to save notes when speaking with their clients. Extremely unprofessional and entitled staff in my opinion. I was unhappy with the service I received, not the work but the human interactions at the dealership. While I understand summer is the busy season, I had booked my appointment a month in advance and one of the earliest time spots available (around 8am). In summary I was not expecting to be without my car for a day and a half for an hour diagnosis because I was told end of day. No one had contacted me to let me know that my car would not make it within the same day and when I called before closing hours no one was able to tell me the status unless it was the service advisor; and of course the advisor had left for the day and was told to call tomorrow. When I checked back the next business day, it was the same scenario and I was not able to contact them, and before I could just ask the status other staff members were quick to push me through to the voicemail line. The busy schedule of the dealership gave the impression that they were quick to push or answer everything quickly and hang-up or send you to someone else. Hope that's not true. Hopefully next time (if there is one), just let us know if there is a delay and maybe us clients can adjust our expectations and our schedule accordingly. I was not expecting this from a Mercedes dealership. Unless the other location in Ottawa set the bar too high. More
