What Others Say

Money grab and a pompous staff for sure as stated in the comments. If you are not knowledgeable about vehicles they will take advantage. This dealership preys on people who don't know better and are trusting them to be honest. This dealership had me leaving and returning with new problems each time I came in for service or an oil change for the last 4 years. Coincidence or bad luck until the last 2 oil changes were both leaking due to sloppy work . The last oil change was performed 1 day before leaving on a trip to northern Ontario leaving me stranded in Sturgeon Falls ON - no oil in vehicle. Vehicle had to be towed from Sturgeon Falls to Sudbury where it was discovered that the oil filter was cracked - either already damaged or cracked while changing the filter. Either way this was the second time and difficult to believe it was a one off being the second time in a row. John Bear did not want to be accountable and laid blame on GM for defective filter. John Bear also insisted that the engine light that remains on since the oil leak was completely unrelated to the drive from Hamilton to Sturgeon Falls without any oil left in my vehicle ??? I now realize that much of the service that I had done on the vehicle was likely unnecessary - such as spending over $1200 including a discount to have all the lines changed under vehicle 3 months earlier which did not resolve clunking issue. Clucking was in fact due to loose bolts underneath after returning with the same complaint - they didn't see this during the inspection and decided the line needed replacing ??? I was then charged to have the bolts tightened - nice. They said I must have have had work done somewhere else because they never touched the bolts ??? The positive comments on this site can only be made by knowledgeable customers that the dealership is unable to rip off. This is the 3rd vehicle purchase through John Bear - that's what you get for being a loyal customer. Hope this helps someone.

Buyer beware, I had expected a safe transaction when purchasing a used vehicle from John Bear dealership. I held the belief that John Bear was a reputable and responsible company, one that would treat its customers with respect. However, my experience turned out to be quite the opposite. Shortly after acquiring my 2016 Chevy Cruze, I discovered that the spare wheel compartment contained several inches of water. It took a week to resolve this issue, and it was evident that the dealer had previously attempted a repair without verifying its effectiveness. Now, less than six months later, I'm dealing with a persistent moaning noise whenever I turn the steering wheel. The John Bear service department informed me that it requires a rack and pinion steering column replacement, which is currently out of stock and on backorder due to the GM strike. When I reached out to the used car agent and manager for assistance, their only response was, "You should have purchased an extended warranty." There was no genuine concern for customer satisfaction or retention. It's clear that John Bear does not stand behind the used vehicles they sell, and they seem indifferent to maintaining positive customer relations. This has been my most disappointing experience with a car company, and I have no intention of doing business with John Bear again, nor will I consider buying another Chevy vehicle.

i`ve been coming to this dealership for over 25 yrs its very clean and the people are very good at their job. when you take your car in for service they only do whats needed at that time. Also they give you a time when the car will be ready and its within 1/2 hr of when they said

Recently purchased a pre-owned vehicle and had a small issue with it and the service department took it in, repaired it promptly and topped off fluids. Awesome.Thank you "Carman" Gerry and to your team for taking care of me! Thanks again.

Worst service department, Money grape (check prices with other dealers before proceeding huge difference. stay away.

For a service department, they give no service. Pompous staff. Would not recommend this dealership.
