Hello Ron, Thank you for providing your feedback. We sincerely appreciate your pending vehicle purchase, and look forward to working with you as we complete the steps of the process. As you note, we do inform all out-of-state buyers of our responsibilities up front to handle title and registration for all transactions (as you note, we use a reputable agent for all states beyond the PNW). This is done to protect prior owner privacy (we can't release a title with prior owner information) and to ensure the vehicle is properly registered upon sale to avoid any citations or other material coming to the prior owner about their former vehicle. As we explained in your case, we have an additional responsibility as you have utilized financing for the vehicle, and we are obligated to ensure the lien is appropriately filed on your title. Initially you indicated to us this would be a "cash" transaction, but that was not the case. While we understand how consumers can get confused when outside financing is utilized and call it "cash", that did require us to update instructions with our agent once you shared complete information with us. Ultimately, we have no control on temporary tags outside of Oregon. Each state has different rules and timeframes. In our experience, we have not heard of any authority enforcing a citation on a legitimately recent purchase (vehicle) with proof of registration-in-process. (This is another reason why we ensure registration is completed.) I am very sorry for your frustration but I sincerely hope this further explanation helps to understand the process more clearly. Thanks for responding. We have not spoken before nor did we interact during this deal so I’m not sure how you would have the full picture, especially my (the customer’s) view. Firstly, You mentioned above, “…to protect prior owner privacy (we can't release a title with prior owner information) and to ensure the vehicle is properly registered upon sale to avoid any citations or other material coming to the prior owner about their former vehicle.” However, I received the vehicle with the previous owner’s personal identifying information including their state registration card (which includes names, address, DMV registration/plate number), and a copy of their extended warranty contract documents, with all of their personal identifying information. All these documents were left in the glove box. How was this missed? Rest assured, to protect the prior owner’s privacy, I took it upon myself to safely and securely discard the documents containing the previous owner’s personal information on your behalf. Secondly, You failed to comment on/acknowledge the main issues which affected my experience: the delay of Kuni BWM obtaining title of the vehicle from the previous owner’s lien holder until the car was 1 day away from delivery which caused the extreme delay in registering the vehicle. Kuni failed to have title of the vehicle by the time the car was purchased and picked up by my transport. With a day left for delivery of the car, I’m told by the Kuni that the title is still with the previous owner’s lien holder. This was only caught because I called to check on the registration status. At the beginning of the deal, I explained to Kuni (both Nathan and Willie), that my state requires the previous title in order to register the vehicle. However, it fell on deaf ears as no one even bothered to check that Kuni had title during the deal. This major error on Kuni’s part effectively delayed the registration process and set off a series of delayed events. As Kuni only obtained title when the vehicle was en route to me, the title was delayed getting to the 3rd party title vendor, which then delayed them sending it to their courier in my state. Thirdly, The vehicle registration process explained by Kuni (Nathan and Willie), was not at all the registration process carried out of 3rd party title vendor.  I was told the out of state registration would be speedy and likely completed before I received the car. It was not registered until a week after I received the vehicle, which is also a week and a half after I purchased the vehicle. My final decision to purchase this vehicle from Kuni BMW was made because Willie and Nathan stated the registration process would be speedy. The process was in fact lengthy and gave me false expectations. This was very much an example of over promise and UNDER deliver. I would recommend that employees are familiar with a service that they provide. I was told that the courier would go to a local DMV closest to me to complete the registration. Once confirmed it’s was done, I would then go to the local DMV with my ID and pickup my registration and plates. This DID NOT happen. The courier received the relevant documents from the 3rd party title vendor and registered the vehicle at the DMV closest to him (over and hour away from me), and then sent me plates and registration via an overnight package. I learned off the correct registration process when I contacted the 3rd party title vendor directly. Deflecting responsibility for a poor customer experience is negligence. There is room for improvement on Kuni’s part and I hope you take the effort to improve the customer experience for future customers. Best, Ron
