I have over thirty years of service here at Smythe Volvo. When I started here, I was pulling weeds, dumping oil buckets and doing general facility maintenance. Eventually I progressed from a Technician to a Master Technician, Service Advisor, Service Manager then Service Director. My favorite part of working here at Smythe Volvo is that we invest our business energy into safety. Over the years, we've had many customers who survived accidents because they were in a Volvo. Additionally, we've had many police officers who come in and bought a Volvo because they've been at the scene of an accident and seen how a Volvo saved a person's life. In my spare time, I enjoy being with my family, specifically going for walks with my three sons.

A Great Team. They are very responsive. I have 5 Volvo's which are serviced by this team. They also advise me on work that needs to be done on a preventive basis. The assigned ratings were given because Sean, Tom, and Doug took the time to listen to my problem, properly diagnose the problem, and effectively correct the problem in a cost efficient and timely manner. They also went above and beyond to give me one of their personal vehicles to use for a few days while they worked on my car, which allowed me to attend several business meetings and not disrupt my family or business. Going to Smythe is like visting a Mom & Pop business, but with all the professionalism cultivated to mesh friendliness with businesslike and technically informed service. When I entered the dealership I was greeted in a friendly and personable manner by Sean Flanagan. We live in New Jersey and were in the market for a couple of cars. We decided to go with Volvo for its obvious reasons. The next thing to do was find the right dealership so after a few visits and doing some homework we chose Smythe Volvo in Summit, NJ. Without writing a novel, if we could sum up our experiences, Smythe Volvo has become like an extended part of our family. There is always some apprehension when walking into a dealership. One reason would be the bombardment of a high pressured sales team. You will certainly not be stalked like a vultures next meal here at Smythe. The moment we walked into the show room we were greeted by a very courteous and knowledgeable sales associate Chris Henricksen. Chris superseded all of our expectations. He by far has raised the bar and is exemplary in his profession. The best sales associate we have ever worked with! He knows these vehicles extremely well. Buyers don’t have to settle at Smythe. Chris makes choosing options fun and will hold your hand through the ordering process. We had extreme pleasure conducting business with him. Our relationship with Chris did not end after the sale. Chris Henricksen keeps the line of communication open checking in from time to time providing us with updates and to listen should we have any concerns. Servicing our vehicle was just as easy and hassle free. We were introduced to Tony Plesh. Another Smythe Wonder!!! Calling him to set up service appointments are very easy. We always have a loaned vehicle to take home for those longer appointments. Tony is a marvel. His expertise in knowing these vehicles in and out is too, exemplary. We are at ease when we think there is a problem because he knows the remedy. Tony knows how to ease your concerns! Tony Plesh also provides us with service updates and specials. A great service to remind us customers to take the time out and get our vehicles checked right. More

I am compelled to write this review regarding my visit to Smythe Volvo on Saturday, August 4th, 2012. I went to the dealership as I noticed earlier in the day that I had a screw in one of my tires on my XC Smythe Volvo on Saturday, August 4th, 2012. I went to the dealership as I noticed earlier in the day that I had a screw in one of my tires on my XC90 which I had purchased from the dealership. After driving by a number of closed repair / tire shops, Smythe was there when I needed them. My salesman, Chris Henriksen and Sean Flanagan, did not hesitate to perform the repair despite the fact that it was beyond the normal service hours, in fact the repair was done complementary. This is just one example of the type of experiences that I have had at Smythe. Chris my sales representative is a true professional, knowledgeable about the product and low pressure in his approach. Sean Flanagan is a very active and engaged, personally reaching out to me after service appointments in order to ensure that I was completely satisfied. Tony Plesh in service is also extremely helpful, providing insight into service recommendations Bottom line - I am a huge fan of the brand and this dealership. I currently drive two Volvo's and over the last couple of years have owned a S80, S60 and XC90. The best complement to a business is providing a good recommendation. Not only am I writing this recommendation but have also recommended this dealership to family members (father and sister) who have also purchased vehicles from Smythe. P.S. when I was in the dealership waiting for my car to be serviced I test drove a C70. When it's time to get my next car I now know what it will be! More
