I purchased a Subaru Forester in May of 2023. Jaime Jones was great to work with and she was very attentive to what I was looking for in a vehicle. Unfortunately, finally getting into the car was Jaime Jones was great to work with and she was very attentive to what I was looking for in a vehicle. Unfortunately, finally getting into the car was tedious and fairly inconvenient. The finance department was short-staffed, and I had to return the following day for delivery. I was finally able to be seen by Mr. Palmateer over 3 hours past my appointment time and by then, my ride and second pair of eyes on the documentation had to leave for an appointment. Needless to say, I was exhausted by the time I was quickly led through the many pages of the sales contract, and it wasn't until I got home that I thought about the interest rate of the load I received. Why should I panic with a 750 credit score, a decent income, and very little debt- although, when I looked through the documents, I found an interest rate of 8.59%!! I understand it's completely on me to know what I'm agreeing to on paper, but I can't help but think that if I had a fresh mind and eyes going through the documents, and declined the extremely high-interest rate, I would have been stuck an hour away from home without a vehicle at 7:00 p.m. Of course, I had to refinance my new car, adding additional costs to the new loan (at 5.6% interest). And now I'm having mechanical issues with the car 5 months later. With my Subaru at a local dealership for repair, I am now waiting for a call back regarding information I need to ensure repairs are under warranty... More
