I recently bought a used vehicle and was given an IOU for a spare key and fob since the truck only game with 1. After not hearing anything for 3 weeks I called and was informed it was just ordered and would a spare key and fob since the truck only game with 1. After not hearing anything for 3 weeks I called and was informed it was just ordered and would be in within 3 days. Another week has gone by and alls I’m told is “it’s on the way” sounds like they don’t want to give me the key and hope I leave them alone. Very unprofessional. More

Was hesitant to leave a deposit because we wanted to research the car a little. We allowed ourselves to be talked into leaving the deposit after Ryan promised it was refundable. He knew we were going to look it up. He even hugged us! Went home and googled this car and found hundreds of horror stories about bad engines and how Hyundai and Kia have had to spend $2 billion to replace engines and pay fines. Found out my next door neighbor had to have her Hyundai engine replaced so this is not just xx on the internet. So this morning we called and asked for the deposit back. Somehow they claim to have deposited our check after we left after 5 last night and before we called at 9 am this morning. Now he says it will take 10 days to refund but we can come in and look for another car. I find again that Kia and Hyundai are not something I want to pay for because I need a car I can count on and not one that will need it's engine replaced. So we were forced to stop payment on our check (at a cost) and we don't want to do business with this dealership. We are very disappointed and will avoid the entire Romeo chain and just travel far from home to find a car. It would be so nice if people could trust what they are told but that is just not possible. Be warned Hyundai and Kia have major issues and a salesman who claims to not know about that cannot be telling the truth. Don't waste your time. More
I bought a 2023 Kia Soul and the salesman Vincent was great. The problem came when I took it out for service recently and told Vincent I didn't like the remake of the model body. They told me that afte great. The problem came when I took it out for service recently and told Vincent I didn't like the remake of the model body. They told me that after six months my car was only worth $14,000 to turn in and I would be losing money on the lease. The car only has $5,000 miles and is 6 months old. I then went to find my lease. I couldn't find it so I called Kia on 1/15/24. After almost 45 minutes on the phone Kia Finance couldn't explain to me how they came to the dollar amount of payments or why they put the numbers in the way they did. I am disabled with a cognitive issue of the brain and I was grieving the loss of my father. I know the business man was new but told me when I left and put a deposit down my payment would be 240 a month. When I went to pick up the car a day and 1/2 later my payment for a Kia soul was 351. Not happy at all. Service and sales are good. I think it changed since the move from Schwenk. Next time I'll go where they take into account my disability more. BTW The business man new about the disability. More

Double and triple check all paperwork - complete failure of attention to detail - [ ] After 7 attempts by Romeo Kia and 4 weeks - I think that our transaction has finally been completed accurately. of attention to detail - [ ] After 7 attempts by Romeo Kia and 4 weeks - I think that our transaction has finally been completed accurately. This process has been riddled by paperwork inaccuracies- misspelled name, wrong VIN number, inability to do math properly - each mistake made multiple times. As a consumer I have had to call them multiple times to actually make the paperwork be processed. Not to mention that the car was delivered to me without being detailed despite a promise that it would be. Hours have been spent by me contacting them, reviewing paperwork, getting my car detailed and making sure that the transaction was actually completed. Buyer beware - they may not even have the title to cars they list on their site. They didn’t have the one I bought initially and they listed my trade in before they had the title in hand. Details seem unimportant to them. More
After the experience from xxxx dealing with Destination Kia in Albany I was so glad to discover Romeo Kia. At Destination everyone seemed fixated on how they're a "high volume dealership" and the constant Kia in Albany I was so glad to discover Romeo Kia. At Destination everyone seemed fixated on how they're a "high volume dealership" and the constant reminders that they're the "4th largest Kia dealership in the country" made me feel like they wanted me to be grateful for them, not that they were grateful for my business. By the time I was done being put through the wringer waiting two weeks for a car I had a deposit on at Destination I was burnt out and over it. Dealing with Ryan Layton at Romeo Kia really saved the car buying experience for me. Ryan is down to earth and friendly, and went above and beyond to get me into the car I bought asap. He even came in on his day off so that I could take the vehicle next-day. Romeo seems to be a smaller family owned dealership where they take the time to meet their clients and make sure they're satisfied. I was introduced to a service manager, business manager, and general manager and all were eager to make the process as easy as possible. The general manager took the time to thank me at the end of the transaction and promised that Ryan would be following up the next day to make sure I was happy with the car, and that's exactly what happened. I hope to have my current car for quite a while, but I'm glad to know that I won't have to look for another dealership when it's time for a replacement. More

I don’t know what’s wrong with the business dept there either. If the guy is new or what. This whole process has been nothing but mistakes and lies. I reported them to BBB - they are not even accredited and the owner lied in the statement he sent them! NOTHING I HATE MORE THEN LIARS! If you make a mistake, you admit your mistakes and you apologize and your make up for it you don’t play games and lied to cover your butt! More
I am only going to focus on the extremely shady things. These guys have done and not even about the car itself. They lied multiple times I have proof of it they were supposed to take my $500 deposit and th These guys have done and not even about the car itself. They lied multiple times I have proof of it they were supposed to take my $500 deposit and they never mention there is a 3% fee for using the credit card and then they charged my credit card the day I was getting the car which they should not have been able to keep my credit card information on file that is a privacy Violation and against the law that is why the car dealerships always call you back up because they’re not supposed to keep that information so then they charge me a 3% fee without telling me when I go to get the car it was not even washed or detailed and they told me earlier that morning at 11 AM. The car was going in to get cleaned now and they never did it And the bottom line when I got there they took a while they rushed me to do a very very quick test drive and I had to ask them three times for a test drive because they wanted to hurry up and send the car to get cleaned before it was too late And then they lie when I complain about this and I claim oh we are offered you an extensive test drive when you got here this is one of just the many many lies so the icing on the cake now when the finance manager is doing the deal, he must be new or very slow in the head as he did not do multiple things he was supposed to do and as I am leaving the dealership he comes running out and says oh we forgot to charge you for the DMV and the plates so I said I’m not using my credit card because you guys are going to try to charge me that fee I have cash on me. I did not have exact change but a dealership usually has a cashier so that should not be a problem. They told me they would come back with my change in the receipt and they did not and then they told me oh, if there’s any change, will mail you a check so I left I have all the paperwork everything a week later they call me up and say they forgot to process the $2000 and they need my credit card information I do not have to pay that by credit card I can pay that anyway I want to pay it and I am not going to pay it by credit card in it for 3% fee so illegally they still have my credit card information apparently and they charged me $2060 without my permission again charging me a 3% fee. This dealership is also not Better Business Bureau accredited and I filed a complaint on there tonight they are doing illegal things and very shady and then they claim to have recorded me without my permission when they called me up and they did a three-way conference call without my permission having someone listening on the phone. These are the kind of car dealers that give car dealers a bad name, lying evil sneaky people. And they don’t even have keychains to give you when you buy a new car. I’ve never bought a new car and not got a keychain. Also, the car was not taken by the original person who ordered it and I am having electrical problems with it and I’m wondering if that’s why they didn’t take it so they were in a rush to give it to me and get rid of it and they want me to come up there, but they don’t even have a loaner cars and I live over an hour away. The experience was awful! The 2010 Forester, which we had bought from them, was not roadworthy. Less than 24 hours after purchase, it suffered a significant mechanical failure The 2010 Forester, which we had bought from them, was not roadworthy. Less than 24 hours after purchase, it suffered a significant mechanical failure. My wife, her mother, and our two children were taking a short trip on winding backcountry roads when the incident occurred, requiring the car to be towed- as it was unsafe to drive. The dealership misrepresented the work that had been done on the car both on the carfax report and to us personally. To make matters worse, the dealership repaired the supposedly broken brake caliper but refused to address any of the additional issues that were discovered, disclaiming the implied warranty after the fact, never in writing. In fact, days later when the car showed signs of additional issues, they lied and told us that the implied warranty did not apply to the vehicle because it is over 100,000 miles; thus, refusing to refund our purchase. When I sought to show the NYS statute that proves the implied warranty remains in effect within the first 30 days after purchase, if there are any safety issues with the vehicle and/or misrepresentation on the part of the dealership, the manager became verbally abusive. He even said that if we wanted to trade the Forester for one that is roadworthy, he wouldn't give us the full monetary value that we had originally paid, just days prior. I have been advised by both a mechanic and an attorney to report the dealership to the DMV and the Better Business Bureau. Avoid Romeo Kia of Kingston. Your life might literally depend on it. More
