Walkerton Toyota responded

Dear Barry123 It is unfortunate that you had an unsatisfactory experience at Walkerton Toyota. I am glad to here you have successfully repaired your speed sensor. We feel it necessary however to clarify some of your statements. You brought in a 2008 Toyota Tundra for a corrosion campaign which we completed according to Toyota Canada’s campaign requirements. After you picked up your Tundra you noticed lights on and contacted our service department. We offered to pick up your Tundra and diagnose the lights at no cost. Our Technician pulled the trouble code which indicated a failed left rear speed sensor. He then removed the sensor connector and discovered corrosion on the sensor and the connecting wire. Our Technician did not remove the sensor. The recommended repair was: New speed sensor - $191.90, New connector wire that controls both rear speed sensors - $236.10 and 2 hours of labour to install both parts. Totaling $648. It is evident form your description of how you removed the sensor that it was corroded and needed to be replaced.
