Renee, below is my response I sent you 06/21/16 3:46pm. Renee, I received your email re the 90 payment deferral. First please let me apologize for the situation & I will be as transparent as possible. As I’m sure you know already we are 3rd generation family owned store in our 75th year. I have been here over 20 years myself, and we always try to do what’s best for the customer. When any customer orders a vehicle and its financed it is order protected if we have a bank approval, deposit copy and signed bill of sale, in other words yes, your unit was order protected. This means that any program available between the time of order and time of delivery can be used. Attached are the program sheets for March, April, May and June. I have marked the Colum at the bottom showing that the 90 day payment deferral was for June only. Below is an email all dealers received from Chrysler regarding 0% offers will end May 31st, we never know what the new program’s will be. This is not that relevant to you as you were program protected regardless. As we were told by Chrysler 0% was going away the program was as good as it was going to get for your purchase so we made the decision to report the unit for May. This is a common practice especially if the unit is a cash deal and we’re concerned the program may get worse for the customer as they are not protected. Additionally, we are under pressure to hit targets and if there is no down side to the customer [as was our belief in your case] with a delivery taking place in a few days everybody wins including us as its another unit toward our target. In this case Chrysler added the 90 day deferral for June, something they rarely do and we did not foresee. Once reported we claim that months programs, we cannot claim a program for a different month, and yes if we re report it’s all new bank contracts, bill of sale etc. Had we not reported the vehicle May 31st and the programs got worse in June it would have had no impact on your deal we would have claimed May programs. We’re not perfect, in hind sight it would have been better had we not reported the vehicle, in the end the only thing that changed was the 90 day deferral. It is only a deferral and the take rate is less than 10% as it does not save the customer any money and in the long run just makes the loan take longer to pay out, but again I apologize. In regards to fuel, all units get $40 dollars of fuel put in them for delivery, you pay for it, it’s on your bill of sale, standard process. We never know what fuel is in a trade, we more often than not they are empty, that’s just how they come in. Sam Fairhall General Manager Wellington Motors
